Sergei Bobrovsky will start Tuesday vs. Tampa Bay.

Bobrovsky allowed three goals on 33 shots (.909 SV%) for his second loss in three games as he was defeated by Buffalo in his last start. The 34-year-old will be called upon often with Spencer Knight (personal) now away from the team and will be hoping to improve his 17-16-2 record, 3.12 GAA and .902 SV%. He will face the Tampa Bay Lightning, who have lost four of their last six games but are fourth in the NHL in scoring (3.56).

Elvis Merzlikins is the likely starter Tuesday vs. Buffalo.

Merzlikins allowed three goals on 44 shots (.932 SV%) for his third straight loss as he was defeated by Minnesota in his previous start. The 28-year-old has had a horrendous 2022-23 campaign, with his 6-15-2 record, 4.14 GAA and .876 SV%. He will face the Buffalo Sabres, who have won five of their last six games and are 2nd in the NHL in goals per game (3.78).

Filip Gustavsson starts vs. the New York Islanders.

Gustavsson allowed two goals on 24 shots (.917 SV%) to snap a three-game winning streak with an overtime loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs. The 24-year-old has basically taken over Minnesota's starting job, due to his incredible 15-8-3 record, 2.11 GAA and .928 SV%. He will take on the New York Islanders, who have won three of their last four contest after a 4-0 win over Winnipeg last game.

Andrei Vasilevskiy was the first goalie off the ice at morning skate Tuesday vs. Florida.

Vasilevskiy went into "playoff mode" in his previous start, stopping 45 of 45 shots for his second shutout of the season as he blanked the Detroit Red Wings. The 28-year-old is on pace to lead the NHL in wins for a sixth-straight season due to his 28-14-2 record, 2.55 GAA and .919 SV%. He takes on the Florida Panthers, who have lost three of their last five games after a 3-1 defeat to Buffalo last game.

Rasmus Dahlin is still day-to-day and will miss Tuesday vs. Florida (undisclosed)

Dahlin missed the Sabres' previous game due to an undisclosed injury and will miss Tuesday as well as he is still considered out day-to-day. The 22-year-old has been enjoying a true breakout campaign, with 14 goals, 48 assists, 161 SOG, 72 PIMs and a +23 plus/minus through 56 games played prior to his injury.

Erik Cernak will return from his two-game suspension Tuesday vs. Florida.

Cernak missed the Lightnings' last two games as he served his suspension for an elbow to Buffalo's Kyle Okposo but will return to the lineup Tuesday. The 25-year-old bruising defenseman has a goal, 10 assists, 57 SOG, and 42 PIMs across 51 games played prior to his suspension.

Tanner Jeannot will make his Lightning debut Tuesday vs. Florida.

Jeannot was dealt to the Lightning over the weekend and will make his Tampa Bay debut Tuesday vs. state rival Florida. The 25-year-old has five goals, nine assists, 85 PIMs and 87 SOG through 56 games this season with the Predators. He will be on Tampa Bay's third line with Nick Paul and Ross Colton.

Craig Anderson was in the starters' crease Tuesday during the Sabres' morning skate.

Anderson was miraculous in his previous start, stopping 49 of 50 shots for a victory over Florida in his fourth 40+ save victory of the year. The 41-year-old has turned back time this season, as proven by his 9-7-2 record, 2.70 GAA and .920 SV%. He will face the Columbus Blue Jackets, who have lost three of their last four games and are 30th in the NHL in goals per game (2.55).

The Red Wings have signed Jake Walman to a three-year contract extension worth $10.2 million ($3.4M AAV).

Walman was a third-round pick in 2014 and was traded to the Red Wings in the Nick Leddy deal last March. The 27-year-old has taken a massive step forward this year, playing on the top-pair with Moritz Seider for the last few months. Walman has a booming slap shot and is a shot-blocking machine in his own-end. On the year, he's scored five goals with five assists (10 points) with 95 SOG and 77 Blks in 40 games.

He will take on the Vegas Golden Knights, who have won six of their last eight games and are 10th in the NHL in shots per game (32.8).

Cam Talbot will start Monday vs. Detroit.

Talbot allowed three goals on 29 shots (.897 SV%) for his third loss in five games as he was beaten by the Carolina Hurricanes in his last start. The 35-year-old has had an injury-filled first year in Ottawa, which has led to his 12-14-1 record, 2.90 GAA and .905 SV%. He will face the red-hot Detroit Red Wings, who have won 8 of their last 10 contests after dropping their last game 3-0 to Tampa Bay.

Thatcher Demko has been activated off the injured reserve (groin).

Demko last played on December 1st due to a groin injury and has been activated from the injured reserve and will be a game-time decision Monday as Vancouver takes on Dallas. The 27-year-old was struggling before the injury, with his 3-10-2 record, 3.93 GAA and .883 SV%.
