Charlier McAvoy was seen practising in a regular jersey Monday

McAvoy was surprisingly on the ice in a non-contact jersey Monday after missing all of the 2022-23 season so far due to off-season shoulder surgery. It was a nice surprise as McAvoy was not expected back until closer to the new year. McAvoy enjoyed a breakout season in 2021-22, reaching double-digit goals (10) for the first time while putting up 56 points (10G/46A) in 78 games played.

Comrie was the first goalie off of the ice at the Sabres morning skate.

Comrie will take the crease after losing his last start 3-2 off a 31-save (.912 SV%) performance vs. Montreal. He will attempt to improve his ugly 3.41 GAA and build off his .909 SV% though five games. Comrie takes on the Red Wings Monday who has struggled to score lately as they have not put up more than two goals in any of their last three games.

Andersen will start Monday vs. the Capitals.

Andersen surrendered five goals on 31 shots in the Hurricanes' loss to the Islanders on Friday. It was at the second time in three starts that Andersen has given up five goals and moved him to 3-2-0 with a 2.81 GAA and .896 SV% through five starts. On Monday, he'll take on a Capitals team that has won five of their last seven games while averaging 3.43 goals per game.
