Bertuzzi still isn't eligible to travel to Canada, so he won't play in Calgary, Edmonton or Vancouver. This is tough timing for the Red Wings, who lost Robby Fabbri for the season on Thursday. Taro Hirose was recalled from the AHL to fill in.
The Red Wings recalled Taro Hirose from Grand Rapids (AHL).
With Robby Fabbri out for the rest of the season and Tyler Bertuzzi ineligible to play in Canada, Hirose could get into the Red Wings lineup over the weekend. Hirose has had a terrific year in Grand Rapids, leading the Griffins with 45 points (14G / 31A) in 52 games.
The Red Wings have placed Robby Fabbri (knee) on IR and he is expected to miss the rest of the season.
Head coach Jeff Blashill suspects that Fabbri tore his ACL, which would be the third time he's suffered a torn ACL. It is not the same knee as previous tears but it will once again be a long road back for Fabbri.
The Kings have recalled Rasmus Kupari from Ontario (AHL).
Kupari was with the Kings for the start of the season, scoring three goals with six assists (nine points) in 37 games. Since returning to the AHL, he has scored five goals with three assists (eight points) in 15 games with the Reign.
The Canucks have signed Arshdeep Bains to an entry-level contract.
Bains was an undrafted free agent, who is currently tied for the WHL points lead with 82 points (30G / 52A) in 55 games with the Red Deer Rebels.
Smith (knee) was sent back to Vegas to be evaluated.
Smith missed Thursday's game in Buffalo with what is now known to be a knee injury. He was sent back to Vegas with Robin Lehner, as both are being evaluated for injuries. Michael Amadio moved up into the Golden Knights' top-6 with Smith out on Thursday.

The longest suspension served was dealt to former-Detroit Red Wing David Perron at six-games after a cross-checking penalty dealt ironically against his current team in the 2024-25 season, the Ottawa Senators. Additionally, Perron was fined $148,437.48 for his actions.
