Clifton has been a healthy scratch since Game 2 vs. Toronto, but will replace John Moore, who is out with an upper-body injury. Clifton had just one shot while averaging 12:14 TOI/gm through two games vs. Toronto.
Moore is still battling an upper-body injury and will not play in Game 1 vs. the Blue Jackets. Moore, who is day-to-day, will be replace by Connor Clifton on Thursday.
Ferland remains sidelined by an upper-body injury that he suffered in Game 2 and forced him out of Game 3 as well. Luckily for the Hurricanes, they got Jordan Martinook back in Game 6 and could get Andrei Svechnikov back on Wednesday.
Svechnikov has been in concussion protocol since being knocked out by Alex Ovechkin in Game 3. Head coach Rod Brind’Amour did not have much of an update on Svechnikov’s status ahead of Game 7, but it seems like there’s a chance that he plays.
Holtby allowed four goals on 35 shots in the Capitals 5-2 loss in Carolina in Game 6. The Capitals have not been able to win in Carolina in this series, but are 3-0 on home-ice, where Holtby has stopped 82 of the 87 shots (.943 SV%) that he has faced. Holtby has gone 3-4 with a 1.81 GAA, .934 SV% and one shutout in seven career Game 7 starts.
Fleury allowed two goals on 29 shots in the Golden Knights double-overtime loss in Game 6. Fleury has had a solid series, posting a .912 SV% and one shutout through six games and brings a ton of Game 7 experience to the crease on Tuesday. Fleury is 3-3- with a 1.86 GAA and .923 SV% in six career Game 7 starts.
Jones stopped 58 of 59 shots in the Sharks double-overtime win in Vegas in Game 6. Jones has had his struggles in this series but has won back-to-back games to force Game 7, stopping 88 of the last 91 shots (.967 SV%) that he has faced. In his only Game 7 start of his career, Jones posted a 20-save shutout.
Andersen stopped 37 of 40 shots in the Maple Leafs 4-2 loss to the Bruins in Game 6. Andersen was sensational yet again and kept Toronto in Game 6 but they fell just short and head back to Boston for Game 7. Andersen has a .944 SV% in the three games in Boston in this series but is 0-3 with a 4.51 GAA and .840 SV% in three career Game 7 starts.
Rask allowed two goals on 24 shots in the Bruins 4-2 win over the Maple Leafs in Game 6. The Maple Leafs and Bruins have alternated wins in this series and now they find them in a familiar spot, Game 7. Rask, who owns a .921 SV% in the series, is 2-2 with a 3.72 GAA and .845 SV% in four career Game 7 starts.
Rinne game up five goals on 26 shots in the Predators 5-3 loss to the Stars in Game 5. After a hot-start to the playoffs, Rinne has give up a combined nine goals on just 34 shots (.735 SV%) in the last two games. The series now shifts back to Dallas where Rinne turned in a sparking 40-save performance in a Game 3 win but was also pulled just 14 minutes into a Game 4 blowout loss. If Nashville wants to keep their season alive, Rinne will need to be at his best tonight.
Bishop allowed three goals on 33 shots in the Stars 5-3 win in Nashville for Game 5. The Stars’ offence has heated up in the last two games and Bishop has played great, stopping 64 of the last 68 shots (.942 SV%) that he has faced. Now the Stars have a chance to finish the series off on home-ice, where Bishop stopped 59 of 63 shots (.937 SV%) in Games 3 and 4.
Holtby stopped all 30 shots that he faced in the Hurricanes 6-0 shutout win over the Hurricanes in Game 5. The home team has won all five games of this series so far but Holtby and the Capitals will look to end that trend and punch their ticket into the second-round on Monday. Holtby allowed a combined seven goals on 69 shots (.899 SV%) in Games 3 and 4 in Carolina.
