Hill was brought up to serve as Calvin Pickard’s backup on Tuesday but his return to the AHL suggests that Darcy Kemper will be back on Thursday vs. the Blue Jackets.
Mermis was called-up prior to Tuesday’s game because the status of Alex Goligoski was uncertain. Goligoski ended up playing so Mermis returns to the AHL.
Backes has played in the last six games, scoring once with just six shots on net, but will be replaced by Danton Heinen on Wednesday.
Heinen was a healthy scratch for the last two games but will replace David Backes on the Bruins third line on Wednesday. It has been a tough season for Heinen, who has six goals and seven assists (13 points) in 49 games this season.
After Austin Watson was suspended indefinitely, the Predators were in search of some bottom-6 help and they found it in Boyle. Boyle doesn’t have a lot of flair to his game but he’s a reliable two-way centre who can be a net-front asset on the power-play. Boyle has already set a career-high in power-play goals (6) and points (8), giving him a total of 13 goals and 19 points in 47 games this season.

Andersen has gone 3-2-1 with a 2.67 GAA and .922 SV% in six games since returning from a groin injury and is a must-start tonight vs. the Senators. He allowed four goals on 23 shots in a 5-3 loss in his first start vs. Ottawa but don’t let that worry you heading into Wednesday.
Beaudin, 21, was a third-round pick in 2015 and has scored six goals with seven assists (13 points) in 42 games with Colorado (AHL) this season.
McCormick, 26, has 12 points (7G / 5A) in 20 games with Belleville (AHL) this season and 10 points (6G / 4A) in 71 career NHL games with the Ottawa Senators. McCormick will report to the Colorado Eagles (AHL).
Boedker was moved to IR with a mid-body injury that he suffered in Pittsburgh last Friday. Boedker is expected to miss a couple of weeks, so look for Rudolfs Balcers to stick with the Senators for the foreseeable future.
Rinne allowed three goals on 26 shots in the Predators loss to the Stars on Saturday. Rinne has gone 1-3-1 with a 4.05 GAA and .879 SV% in his last five outings. He’ll try to right the ship tonight against Arizona, who played last night and are extremely banged up right now. Rinne remains a sold option despite his recent struggles.
