Allen will start Tuesday vs. the Stars.

Allen allowed four goals on just 14 shots in the Blues loss to the Islanders on Saturday. Jordan Binnington gave him the night off last night and recorded a shutout in his first career NHL start but they’ll come back to Allen tonight vs. the Stars. Allen is 8-8-2 with a 3.67 GAA and .880 SV% on home-ice this year.

Jake Allen
McElhinney leads the Hurricanes onto the ice for warmups.

McElhinney allowed two goals on 24 shots in the Hurricanes win over the Blue Jackets last Friday. McElhinney has won two straight and is 2-2-0 with a 1.76 GAA and .935 SV% in his last four outings. The veteran netminder enters play on Tuesday at 3-3-0 with a 2.50 GAA and .914 SV% on the road this season.

Curtis McElhinney
Greiss leads the Islanders onto the ice for warmups.

Greiss was pulled after he allowed three goals on 17 shots in the Islanders win over the Senators on December 28th. Greiss hasn’t played much recently because Robin Lehner has been the hottest goalie in the NHL but Greiss will get a crack at the Hurricanes tonight. He is 3-0-0 with a 1.00 GAA and .973 SV% vs. the Hurricanes this season.

Thomas Greiss
McKenna will start Tuesday in Washington.

McKenna has gone 1-4-1 with a 3.96 GAA and .897 SV% in six starts and four relief appearances with the Senators so far this season. McKenna spent a few days with the Canucks before being claimed by the Flyers and will make his debut with his seventh NHL team tonight. He has a 3.58 GAA and .892 SV% in 34 career NHL appearances.

Mike McKenna
Stalock will start Tuesday in Boston.

Stalock allowed one goal on nine shots after replacing Devan Dubnyk in Chicago on December 27th. Stalock has started just seven games with three relief appearances, going 5-3-0 with a 2.60 GAA and .903 SV% overall this season. Tonight he faces a Bruins team that has won four straight and seven of their last nine.

Alex Stalock
The Blues have placed Alex Steen on IR with a shoulder injury.

Steen was hurt by a Radko Gudas hit on Monday and will miss at least two weeks with a shoulder injury. The Blues have not recalled a forward at this time but Robby Fabbri will replace him in the lineup on Tuesday.

Alex Steen
Niemi will start Tuesday in Detroit.

Niemi allowed two goals on 47 shots in the Canadiens win in Dallas on New Year’s Eve. It was Niemi’s best outing of the season and tonight he gets his second crack at the Red Wings—Niemi stopped 25 of 28 shots in a 7-3 win in their first meeting of the season (Oct.15).

Antti Niemi
Grubauer was the first goalie off of the ice at the morning skate.

Grubauer allowed one goal on 25 shots in Colorado’s win over the Rangers last Friday. The victory snapped a four-game losing skid for Grubauer, who will make his 20th appearance of the season this evening. The matchup is rough and his road numbers haven’t been pretty this season—5-2-2, 3.25 GAA and .906 SV%.

Philipp Grubauer
The Islanders have assigned Josh Ho-Sang to Bridgeport (AHL).

Ho-Sang had just one goal and one assist in 10 games during his call-up. His return to AHL means that Valtteri Filppula will return to the lineup on Tuesday. Ho-Sang has 22 points (2G / 20A) in 26 games with the Sound Tigers this season.

Josh Ho-Sang
Jones will likely start for the second straight night.

Jones allowed one goal on 23 shots in the Sharks win over the Kings last night. Despite playing yesterday it looks like Jones will start again tonight with Aaron Dell skating this morning. Dell is riding a five-game winning streak despite giving up 13 goals on 130 shots (.900 SV%).

Martin Jones
The Hurricanes have recalled Dan Renouf from Charlotte (AHL).

Renouf has registered one goal and 10 assists in 36 games with Charlotte this season. This is Renouf’s first season in the Hurricanes organization after playing with the Red Wings affiliate in Grand Rapids since 2015. Renouf has just one career NHL games under his belt.

Daniel Renouf
Schmaltz will miss the rest of the season with a lower-body injury.

This is a huge blow for the Coyotes, who gave up Dylan Strome and Brendan Perlini for Schmaltz and now their forward depth will be tested. Schmaltz season ends with 25 points (7G / 18A) in 40 games—five goals and nine assists (14 points) in 17 games with Arizona.

Nick Schmaltz
Fleury will start Tuesday vs. the Rangers.

Fleury allowed two goals on 27 shots in the Golden Knights win in Anaheim last Friday. Fleury is red-hot, having won four straight while allowing just four goals on 106 shots (.962 SV%). He is a must-start right now but is especially so against a Rangers team with Alexandar Georgiev between the pipes.

Marc-Andre Fleury
Talbot will start Tuesday in San Jose.

Talbot stopped all 39 shots that he faced in the Oilers shutout win in Anaheim on Sunday. After entering in relief on Saturday and standing on his head on Sunday, Talbot earned a second straight start tonight in San Jose. Talbot allowed seven goals on 40 shots vs. the Sharks right after Christmas, so look elsewhere for a reliable starter tonight.
