NHL Hockey Player News

Luongo will start Tuesday in Buffalo.

Luongo allowed three goals on 32 shots in the Panthers overtime win over the Maple Leafs on Saturday. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for Luongo, who is 2-2-1 with a 2.95 GAA, .906 SV% and one shutout in five games since returning from his most recent knee injury. The 39-year-old has had a nice season but is 2-4-0 with a 3.70 GAA and .885 SV% on the road this year.

Roberto Luongo
Kinkaid will start Tuesday vs. the Maple Leafs.

Kinkaid allowed one goal on 28 shots in the Devils shootout loss in Nashville on Saturday. With Cory Schneider back on IR, Kinkaid will start almost every game moving forward. Kinkaid was torched for six goals on 32 shots in a 6-1 loss in his first game against the Maple Leafs this season (Nov.9).

Keith Kinkaid
Anderson will start Friday in New Jersey.

Anderson allowed three goals on 34 shots in the Senators win over the Predators on Monday. Anderson has won three of his last four while allowing a combined nine goals on 134 shots (.933 SV%). The 37-year-old has been terrible on the road this year, going 3-7-1 with a 4.13 GAA and .891 SV% in 12 games.

Craig Anderson
Jones will start Tuesday in Minnesota.

Jones was yanked from Sunday’s game in Chicago after allowing three goals on four shots. It was about as bad of a game as you could have to close out a fantasy week but Jones will get a chance to bounce-back tonight in Minnesota. In his first start against the Wild, Jones allowed three goals on 26 shots in a 4-3 win (Nov.6).

Martin Jones
Rittich is in the starter's crease at the Flames morning skate.

Rittich stopped 26 of 28 shots in the Flames win in St. Louis on Sunday. Rittich started both games of the Flames’ weekend back-to-back, winning both games while stopping 60 of 63 shots (.952 SV%). In his first start against the Stars, Rittich allowed four goals on 28 shots in a 4-3 overtime loss (Nov.28).

David Rittich
Talbot will start Tuesday vs. the Blues.

Talbot allowed five goals on 40 shots in the Oilers loss in Winnipeg last Thursday. Talbot has been better under defensive-minded coach Ken Hitchcock but still remains a risky fantasy option and the No.2 netminder on his own team. While St. Louis has had their own struggles this year, they possess enough fire-power to make it a difficult night for Talbot.

Cam Talbot
Spezza (illness) will not play on Tuesday.

Spezza missed the Stars morning skate and will not play on Tuesday because of strep throat. Spezza has actually enjoyed a bit of a resurgence this season, picking up 18 points (5G / 13A) in 33 games. Devin Shore will centre the second line with Spezza out.

Jason Spezza
Bishop will start Tuesday vs. the Flames.

Bishop allowed two goals on 16 shots after replacing Anton Khudobin in Colorado on Saturday. Since returning from injury, Bishop has gone 2-3-0 with a 2.85 GAA and .911 SV% in five appearances. Tonight he faces a Flames team that has gone 8-1-0 in their last nine but Bishop is 6-2-1 with a 2.22 GAA and .930 SV% on home-ice this season.

Ben Bishop
Ward will start Tuesday vs. the Predators.

Ward gave up five goals on 35 shots after replacing Corey Crawford, who left with a concussion, in Sunday’s loss to the Sharks. With Crawford out indefinitely, Ward becomes the Blackhawks’ No.1 netminder again. Through 14 games, Ward has the second worst GAA (4.17) and tied for the fifth worst SV% (.883) among the 63 qualified starters. He has been terrible and should not be trusted in any format.

Cam Ward
Hutton will start Tuesday vs. the Panthers.

Hutton allowed three goals on 38 shots in the Sabres loss in Washington on Saturday. Hutton has lost three of his last four (1-2-1) despite posting a solid 2.31 GAA and .923 SV%. Hutton has been one of the best goalies in the NHL over the last month and he has been really good on home-ice, going 9-2-1 with a 2.31 GAA and .928 SV% this season.

Carter Hutton
The Blackhawks have activated Gustav Forsling (shoulder) from IR.

Forsling has missed the last six games with a shoulder injury but is expected to play on Tuesday. Forsling will replace Henri Jokiharju on the blueline after Jokiharju was loaned to Finland for the World Juniors. Forsling has one goal and four assists (five points) in 11 games this season.

Gustav Forsling
The Blackhawks have activated Artem Anisimov (concussion) from IR.

Anisimov has missed the last four games with a concussion but is expected to play Tuesday vs. the Predators. Anisimov has registered just six goals on 61 shots (9.8 SH%) and nine assists (15 points) in 31 games this season.

Artem Anisimov
Dubnyk will start Tuesday vs. the Sharks.

Dubnyk stopped 24 of 26 shots in the Wild’s loss to the Flames on Saturday. Dubnyk went through a rough patch from mid-November to early-December but has played great in his last three starts—2-1-0 while allowing just four goals on 87 shots (.954 SV%). In his first start against the Sharks, Dubnyk allowed four goals on 22 shots in a 4-3 loss in San Jose (Nov.6).

Devan Dubnyk
Hall (lower-body) will return to the Devils lineup on Tuesday.

Hall has missed the last two games with a lower-body injury but will play Tuesday vs. the Maple Leafs. Hall will be back on the top line with Nico Hischier and that duo has a 55.1 CF% and are averaging an impressive 33 scoring chances for/60 in 280:15 5v5 TOI together this season. Overall, Hall has eight goals and 23 assists (31 points) in 29 games.

Taylor Hall
Hart will make his NHL debut Tuesday vs. the Red Wings.

Hart will be a sixth goalie to dress for the Flyers this season and will be leaned on to save their season. The 20-year-old was a second-round pick in 2016 and is viewed as one of the NHL’s top goaltending prospects. Hart was 9-5-1 with a 3.05 GAA and .901 SV% in his first 17 professional games with Lehigh Valley (AHL) but was impressive in his last five games, going 4-1-0 with a 1.82 GAA and .939 SV%.
