Lyon surrendered four goals on 40 shots in the Flyers loss to the Canadiens on January 16th. Lyon was busy in his season debut and is now 4-4-1 with a 3.14 GAA and .894 SV% in his NHL career. In his second start of the year, he'll face a Colorado team that went 5-2-2 with 3.89 goals per game in January.

Elliott stopped all 19 shots that he faced in the Flyers' shutout win over the Penguins on January 21st. Elliott has won three straight while stopping 83 of the 87 shots (.954 SV%) that he has faced. Tonight he faces the Penguins again. He has the shutout 10 days ago but was also pulled after giving up six goals on 28 shots in a 7-1 loss in the first meeting with the Penguins, so there is some risk here.

With the Rangers carrying three goals, Lundqvist has not started since January 11th. The veteran allowed five goals on 29 shots that night and is 2-3-0 with a 3.35 GAA and .885 SV% in his last six appearances (five starts). Tonight he faces a Red Wings team that the Rangers beat last night, extending their losing streak to seven games--they've averaged 1.71 goals per game over that span.

Shesterkin stopped 29 of 31 shots in the Rangers loss to the Blue Jackets on January 19th. In his first three NHL starts, Shesterkin has gone 2-1-0 with a 2.68 GAA and .929 SV%. Tonight he is a terrific option with the Red Wings in town--Detroit lost five in a row before their bye week while averaging 1.67 goals per game.

Hertl was forced to leave Wednesday's game after only a few shifts after falling awkwardly in a collision with Chris Tanev. Hertl tore both his MCL and ACL and will miss the rest of the season. An already difficult season for San Jose just got a whole lot worse. They'll now be without both of their top-2 centres for an extended period of time.

Rask surrendered two goals on 37 shots in the Bruins win over the Islanders on January 11th. HE started January 14th but left before even facing a shot and ended up missing the next three games with a concussion. Rask is 4-0-1 with a 2.18 GAA and .936 SV% in his last six starts and gets set to face Jets team that has lost four in a row while averaging just 1.75 goals per game.

Domi missed Wednesday's practice and was listed as a game-time decision for Thursday's game, but he said he will play following their optional morning skate. Domi has cooled off recently, posting just one assist in his last seven games.

With Brendan Gallagher returning to the lineup, someone has to sit and much, to everyone's surprise, it looks like Kotkaniemi will get a night in the stands. Kotkaniemi remained on the ice with the injured players and other presumed scratches, so look for him to sit in Buffalo.

Kassian was set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer but signs a four-year extension to remain with the Oilers through the 2024 season. Kassian has spent most of the season on Connor McDavid's wing and is on-pace to set new career-highs in goals, assists and points.

Cholowski played in the final game before the Red Wings' bye week with Mike Green out but was sent to the AHL over the break. He has two goals with six assists (eight points) in 30 NHL games this season.

Zadina has become a regular in the Red Wings lineup but was sent to the AHL over the bye week for cap purposes. He has 15 points (8G / 7A) in 26 games this season.

Smith played in nine of the last 10 games before the Red Wings bye week, scoring two goals with one assist but was sent to the AHL over the break.

Gaudet was called up at the start of the week but sat as a healthy scratch for two games. The 26-year-old heads back to the AHL, where he has two goals and 11 assists (13 points) in 39 games.

With Carter Hart expected to miss at least one more week, Lyon returns to serve as the Flyers' No.2 netminder behind Brian Elliott. Lyon has gone 9-13-2 with a 2.59 GAA and .916 SV% in 25 AHL games.

Bunnaman played in five games with the Flyers before the bye week, scoring one goal with one assist but went to the AHL over the break.
