Holtby was able to serve as Pheonix Copley’s backup last night and is set to start tonight in Nashville. Holtby hasn’t been great on the road this year, going 7-4-1 with a 3.07 GAA and .906 SV% and the Predators are one of the best home teams in the league.

Ward stopped 31 of 34 shots in the Blackhawks win in Pittsburgh on January 6th. Collin Delia has started the majority of games recently but Ward is expected to get the Devils tonight. The 34-year-old has gone 5-3-2 with a 3.56 GAA and .892 SV% in 10 road games this season.

Varlamov allowed two goals on 30 shots in Colorado’s loss in Montreal on Saturday. Varlamov has not registered a win since December 15th, going 0-3-2 with a 3.04 GAA and .875 SV% in five games since. The 30-year-old is 6-7-1 with a 2.92 GAA and .908 SV% on the road this season and is a risky option vs. the high-powered Maple Leafs.

The 20-year-old has gone 3-5-1 with a 2.54 GAA and .916 SV% since coming up from Lehigh Valley (AHL) and will make his 10th career start tonight. He is 3-2-1 with a 2.18 GAA and .927 SV% in six starts in Philadelphia.

Rask stopped 30 of 32 shots in the Bruins win in Toronto on Saturday. Rask is riding a five-game winning streak, posting a 1.38 GAA, .955 SV% and one shutout in the process. Tonight he faces the Canadiens for the third time this season—he is 1-1-0 with a 2.04 GAA and .927 SV% in the first two meetings of the year.

Sparks has missed the last five games with a concussion but will be available to serve as Frederik Andersen’s backup on Monday. The Maple Leafs have a back-to-back in Florida later this week, so look for Sparks to get in net once this week.

With a back-to-back on Monday/Tuesday, Copley will give Holtby another day to recover by starting tonight vs. the Blues. The 26-year-old has gone 3-0-2 with a 2.28 GAA and .924 SV% on home-ice.

Blackwood stopped 32 of 34 shots in the Devils win over the Flyers on Saturday afternoon. It was an impressive showing for Blackwood, who had missed the three previous games with a lower-body injury. Blackwood enters play on Monday at 4-2-0 with a 1.85 GAA, .947 SV% and two shutouts since replacing Cory Schneider on the roster.

Shore is a former second-round pick who looked like he had some offensive side after picking up 26 points (15G / 11A) in 25 AHL games in 2016. However, he has a career-high of 33 points and has registered just 17 points (5G / 12A) in 42 games this year. He could play on a line with Ryan Kesler after Cogliano was sent the other way.

Cogliano, 31, has been a consistent albeit unspectacular producer of the years but has just 11 points (3G / 8A) in 46 games this season. Cogliano has three years left on a deal that carries a $3.25M cap-hit. He will likely replace Shore in the Stars bottom-6.



Leivo gets back into the lineup after missing three game with back spasms. Leivo has four goals and one assist (five points) in 14 games since joining the Canucks.

McCann was scratched in Calgary on Friday but will be back in the lineup on Sunday. McCann has seven goals and 10 assists (17 points) in 41 games this season.

Bjugstad has been out since December 6th but will draw back in tonight in Vancouver. Bjugstad, who has four goals and six assists (10 points) in 27 games this season, will start on the top-line with Aleksander Barkov.

Luongo allowed three goals on 23 shots in the Panthers 4-3 loss to the Flames on Friday. Luongo is in the middle of a very difficult stretch, going 0-4-0 with a 4.85 GAA and .832 SV% in his last five starts. The veteran has gone 4-8-0 with a 3.84 GAA and .878 SV% on the road this year.
