NHL Hockey Player News

Raanta will start Thursday vs. the Habs.

Raanta stopped 37 of 38 shots en route to a 6-1 victory over Chicago on Monday, and stopped 12 of 12 in relief of the injured Scott Wedgewood on Tuesday. He’s allowed just four goals on 93 shots (.957 SV%) in his last three appearances. He’ll have a good chance to keep it rolling tonight against the lowly Habs.

Antti Raanta
Forsberg will start vs. the Ducks on Thursday.

With Jeff Glass being sent down to Rockford (AHL), Forsberg is the last man standing in Chicago's crease until Corey Crawford is cleared to return. Forsberg has lost his last three starts, stopping just 53 of 63 shots (.841 SV%) over that stretch. He could be in for another challenging game tonight against the Ducks.

Anton Forsberg
Grubauer will start in Minnesota on Thursday.

Grubauer hasn’t played since February 4th against Vegas, where he stopped 27 of 31 shots (.871 SV%) in a losing effort. Grubauer has proven to be a serviceable backup this season, but he has a difficult task in front of him tonight in the form of the Minnesota Wild.

Philipp Grubauer
Bishop will start vs. the Blues on Friday.

Bishop had a disappointing game against the Canucks on Sunday, stopping just 16 of 20 shots before being pulled in favour of Kari Lehtonen. It was an unfortunate end to a strong stretch of games for Bishop, who had been 6-3-1 with a .934 SV% over his previous ten starts. He has a decent matchup tonight at home against the Blues.

Ben Bishop
Miller is doubtful to play in Vancouver on Saturday.

The Bruins had been targeting Saturday's game in Vancouver for Miller's return. Despite the setback, he is expected to travel with the team, which bodes well for his chances of playing Monday in Calgary.

Kevan Miller
Quick was the first goalie off the ice at the Kings' morning skate on Thursday.

Quick got lit up for four goals on just 20 shots in the Kings 7-3 loss to the Hurricanes on Tuesday. Quick has won just two of his last nine starts and has lost some playing time to backup Darcy Kuemper. It’s unlikely to get any better for Quick against the Penguins tonight, who lead the league in goals scored since the turn of the calendar year.

Jonathan Quick
Lehner will start Thursday in Ottawa.

Lehner had a rough start on Sunday vs. the Avalanche, allowing five goals on just 27 shots (.815 SV%). He was benched in favour of Chad Johnson on Tuesday, who normally only plays on back-to-backs. Tonight’s matchup against the Senators provides a nice opportunity for a bounceback game for Lehner, who has just one win in his last five starts.

Robin Lehner
Kinkaid will start Thursday vs. the Hurricanes.

Kinkaid got the win against the Flyers on Tuesday despite allowing four goals on 35 shots (.886 SV%). The game ended a three-game losing streak for Kinkaid, who hasn’t posted a SV% greater than .900 in a start since February 3rd in Pittsburgh. Despite his struggles, he draws a decent matchup tonight against the Hurricanes.

Keith Kinkaid
Anderson will start vs. the Sabres on Thursday.

Anderson played well in relief of Mike Condon vs. the Penguins on Tuesday, allowing just one goal on 18 shots (.944 SV%). He’s performed well over his last seven games, posting a .921 SV% over that span. He makes for an intriguing play tonight in an enticing matchup against the Eichel-less Sabres.
