Coburn is expected to take a seat tonight with Slater Koekkoek taking his spot on the blueline. Coburn isn’t known for his offence, but he is still searching for his first goal in 2017-18.
Koekkoek has been out of the lineup for the last three games but it looks like he will replace Braydon Coburn on the blueline tonight in Ottawa. Koekkoek has played a lot this season, but has picked up six points (3G / 3A) in the 20 games he has appeared in.
The Oilers acquired Montoya from Montreal via trade and have placed Laurent Brossoit on waivers for the purpose of assignment, so Montoya will be Cam Talbot’s backup going forward. Montoya has only appeared in four games this season but has a career .908 SV%.
Jaskin has just one assist in his last 12 games but will replace Scottie Upshall on a line with Brayden Schenn and Vladimir Tarasenko. Jaskin makes for an interesting daly fantasy play with the Blues new line configuration.
Vasilevskiy allowed on goal on 38 shots in the Lightning’s shootout loss in Montreal on Thursday. It was a rare loss for Vasilevskiy, who was still outstanding despite the end result. Vasilevskiy has gone 11-4-1 with a 1.63 GAA and .951 SV% on the road and already has one win over the hapless Senators this season.
Anderson allowed five goals on 35 shots in the Senators overtime win over the Sharks. Despite letting a lot of rubber get behind him, the Senators will go right back to the veteran netminder tonight against the NHL’s top team. This is a terrible spot for Anderson, making him an extremely risky fantasy option tonight.
Allen allowed three goals on 28 shots before leaving in the Blues loss in Dallas on December 29th. Carter Hutton is red-hot so he started the last three games, but Allen will get back in the crease for the front-end of the Blues’ back-to-back. Allen has lost six of his last seven starts while posting a 2.68 GAA and .913 SV%.
Markstrom allowed one goal on eight shots after replacing Anders Nilsson in the Canucks loss to Anaheim on Tuesday. Markstrom has lost four of his last five starts and is 4-4-2 with a 3.03 GAA and .889 SV% on the road this season. The Swede stopped 35 of 36 shots in a win over the Maple Leafs in early-December.
Andersen allowed two goals on 35 shots the Maple Leafs shootout win over the Sharks on Thursday. Andersen snapped a brief two-game losing skid with the win and has now won four of his last six with a 2.66 GAA and .920 SV%. In his first start against the Canucks, Andersen allowed two goals on 26 shots in a 2-1 loss.
Lindbohm suffered a shoulder injury with Chicago (AHL) earlier this season and underwent successful surgery on Friday. Lindbohm will miss the rest of the season, ending his year with three points (1G / 2A) in 23 games.
Khudobin allowed three goals on 34 shots in the Bruins loss in Washington on December 28th. With Tuukka Rask playing so well Khudobin’s playing time has been limited. Tonight he faces the Hurricanes, who have won eight of their last 11 games (8-2-1) and Khudobin has gone 3-1-1 with a 3.18 GAA and .893 SV% on home-ice this season.
Borgman has picked up two goals and seven assists (nine points) in 40 games this season and has just one assist in his last eight games. Borgman has been playing extremely sheltered minutes so they will give Travis Dermott a shot tonight vs. the Canucks.
Dermott was recalled on Friday and he skated as an extra defenseman at practice, but Dermott will replace Andreas Borgman on the Maple Leafs third pairing. The 21-year-old has picked up two goals and 15 assists (17 points) in 26 games with the Marlies (AHL) this season.
Crouse was in the lineup for the last four games, but after claiming Freddie Hamilton off of waivers, the Coyotes send Crouse to Tucson so he can play. The 20-year-old forward has 10 points (3G / 7A) in 17 games with the Roadrunners.
Capobianco, 20, has only appeared in one game with the Coyotes this season but has picked up 15 points (2G / 13A) in 25 games with the Roadrunners.
Bailey, who is having a massive campaign, played just 2:52 TOI before exiting last night’s loss to the Penguins. The Islanders did not have an update on Bailey postgame, so consider him as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Devils.
Thompson left Friday’s game vs. the Sharks with a lower-body injury after playing just 1:09 TOI. With Thompson sidelined for Saturday’s game, the Senators recalled Colin White from Belleville (AHL) and he will make his season debut tonight.
Dunn was already ruled out for the Blues road trip so they placed him on IR to open up a roster spot to bring Jake Walman up from Chicago (AHL) and on the road trip.
