Allen will start Thursday in Florida.

Allen turned aside 40 of 42 shots in the Blues’ win over the Islanders on Monday afternoon. Allen extended his winning streak to three to start the season, posting a 2.58 GAA and .930 SV%. After getting Tuesday night off in New York, Allen will get back between the pipes tonight in Florida. The Panthers have been off since Saturday and come in at 1-1-0.

Jake Allen
Franson will return to the press box on Thursday night.

Franson recorded one assist with two shots on goal in 16:41 TOI in his Blackhawks debut on Tuesday, but will be replaced by Connor Murphy tonight vs. Minnesota. Franson saw some time on the Blackhawks’ second PP unit, so look for Ryan Hartman to take that spot back tonight as Franson comes out of the lineup.

Cody Franson
Murphy will draw back into the Blackhawks lineup on Thursday.

Murphy was healthy scratched in Montreal on Tuesday to allow Cody Franson to get into the lineup, but look for the two to swap spots again tonight. Murphy, who was acquired for Niklas Hjalmarsson this offseason, has no points on three shots with seven hits in three games this season.

Connor Murphy
The Canadiens have placed Mark Streit on waivers.

Streit was a healthy scratch for the last two games and was placed on waivers this afternoon, so it looks like his time with the Canadiens will be cut short after just two games. At this point, letting Andrei Markov walk in favour of fellow veteran Streit isn’t looking so good for Montreal.

Mark Streit
Josi (undisclosed) will not play on Thursday; listed as day-to-day.

Josi stepped out onto the ice for the Predators morning skate, but took part on the fourth pairing and will be held out of the lineup for the second straight day. With Josi out, Samuel Girard will remain in the lineup. Josi said that he doesn’t expect his injury to keep him out for long.

Roman Josi
Paquette (undisclosed) will not play Thursday vs. the Penguins.

Paquette will miss tonight’s game with an undisclosed injury, but head coach Jon Cooper said that he doesn’t “see [it] as a long term thing.” With Paquette out, Gabriel Dumont will draw into the Lightning lineup.

Cedric Paquette
Crawford will start Thursday vs. the Wild.

Crawford stopped 41 of 42 shots in the Blackhawks’ win in Montreal on Tuesday. Crawford has been excellent to start 2017-18, going 3-0-0 with a 1.00 GAA and .971 SV%. The veteran has been crazy impressive so far and the Blackhawks have been great in front of him, outscoring opponents 18-to-3. Tonight he will face a Wild team that has started 0-1-1.

Corey Crawford
Vasilevskiy will start Thursday vs. the Penguins.

Vasilevskiy surrendered three goals on 26 shots in the Lightning’s overtime win over the Capitals on Monday. Vasilevskiy has gone 2-1-0 with a 3.66 GAA and .900 SV% in his first three starts of the season and tonight he will make his fourth consecutive start. Things won’t get any easier tonight as Vasilevskiy faces the reigning Stanley Cup Champions.

Andrei Vasilevskiy
Boeser will draw into the Canucks’ lineup on Thursday.

After playing great in the preseason, Boeser inexplicably served as a healthy scratch in the first two games of the season. Instead, the Canucks elected to give pugilist Derek Dorsett nearly 16 minutes per game in those contests, so expect Boeser to step into a top-9 role tonight.

Brock Boeser
Vasilevskiy was the first goalie off of the ice at the Lightning morning skate.

Schmaltz (upper-body) is doubtful for Thursday’s game; hopeful to return Saturday vs. Nashville.

Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville col WGN Radio that Schmaltz is “unlikely” to play tonight vs. Minnesota, but is hopeful he’ll be back on Saturday. This is good news for those who picked Schmaltz up after a great season opener as he’s not expected to miss too much time.

Nick Schmaltz
Hellebuyck gets the nod Thursday in Vancouver.

Hellebuyck made 37 stops on 39 shots in the Jets’ win in Edmonton on Monday. It was an excellent start for Hellebuyck, who has stopped 46 of 50 shots (.920 SV%) through one start and one relief appearance this season. He has looked a lot better than Steve Mason, so he will start tonight in Vancouver. The Canucks are 1-0-1 through their first two contests.

Connor Hellebuyck
Quick leads the Kings onto the ice for warmups.

Quick stopped 24 of 25 shots in the Kings win in San Jose on Saturday. Quick has played very well in his first two starts, kicking the season off at 2-0-0 while stopping 59 of 60 shots (.983 SV%). He will take on a Flames team that is 2-1-0 while averaging 2.67 goals for per game through the first season of the season.

Jonathan Quick
Kase is day-to-day with a head injury.

Kase left Tuesday’s game vs. Calgary and did not return after playing just 3:32 TOI. Kase missed Thursday’s morning skate and the Ducks announced pre-game that he is dealing with a head injury—he is day-to-day and questionable for Friday’s game in Colorado.

Ondrej Kase
Bishop will start Thursday in Nashville.

Bishop stopped 23 of 25 shots in the Stars’ win over the Red Wings on Tuesday. Through one and a half starts with Dallas, Bishop has turned away 42 of 44 shots (.955 SV%) and tonight he will make his third start of the season in Nashville. The Predators come in at 1-2-0 while averaging 3.00 goals for per game so far.

Ben Bishop
The Flyers have sent Samuel Morin to Lehigh Valley (AHL).

Morin cracked the Flyers’ opening night roster, but never made it into the lineup through the first four games. Morin returns to Lehigh Valley, where he had 16 points (3G / 13A) and 129 PIMS in 74 games last season. He’ll be back in the NHL at some point this season.
