Nyquist’s wife gave birth to their child in Detroit but Nyquist is expected to be back for Game 3 in Colorado. Nyquist has performed well for the Sharks in the postseason, scoring one goal on 10 shots with three assists in nine games.

Calvert was destroyed by Brent Burns late in Game 2 and will miss Game 3 in Colorado with an upper-body injury. Derick Brassard will move to the third line and Sven Andrighetto will replace Calvert in the lineup.


Rask allowed three goals on 41 shots in the Bruins 3-2 loss in double overtime of Game 2. Rask continues to play well for Boston, stopping 58 of the 63 shots (.921 SV%) that he has faced against Columbus so far—overall he has a .927 SV% in nine playoff starts. In three road starts, Rask has gone 2-1 while stopping 91 of 100 shots (.910 SV%).

Clutterbuck was hurt in the Islanders 2-1 loss to the Hurricanes in Game 2 and missed Tuesday’s practice. Michael Dal Colle will replace Clutterbuck in the lineup for Game 3 if he can’t play. Head coach Barry Trotz called him day-to-day, which makes him questionable for Game 3.

Wagner played in the first two games of the series, registering four shots while averaging 13:00 TOI/gm. Wagner will be replaced by Karson Kuhlman in Game 3.

This will be Kuhlman’s first game in the second-round after being a healthy scratch following the Bruins Game 7 win. Kuhlman has one assist and seven shots while averaging 10:21 TOI/gm in five games in the postseason. Kuhlman, who will skate with David Krejci and Jake DeBrusk, will replace Chris Wagner in the lineup.

With Petr Mrazek out, Nedeljkovic comes up to serve as Curtis McElhinney’s backup on Wednesday. Nedeljkovic was excellent this season, going 34-14-1 with a 2.26 GAA and .916 SV% in 51 AHL games and was 3-1 with a 2.00 GAA and .923 SV% in four AHL playoff games before being called-up. It remains to be seen how long he will remain with Carolina.

van Riemsdyk was hurt early in Game 2 and is out long-term with a shoulder issue. van Riemsdyk will undergo an MRI to determine the severity of the injury but head coach Rod Brind’Amour doesn’t expect to see van Riemsdyk back anytime soon.

Maenalanen suffered a hand injury in Game 2 and will undergo surgery, which will keep him sidelined for up to two weeks. Patrick Brown is expected to be a permanent replacement for Maenalanen while he is out. Maenalanen could be back in Round 3 if the Hurricanes are able to get by the Islanders.

Mrazek was forced to leave Game 2 with a lower-body injury and is not expected to be available for Game 3 in Carolina. Mrazek has been excellent for the Hurricanes during their postseason run, so this could be a big loss, but Curtis McElhinney instilled some confidence during the regular season. Alex Nedeljkovic is expected to be recalled from Charlotte (AHL) and serve as the backup in Game 3. The Hurricanes are expected to give a more detailed timeline on Mrazek’s return in the coming days.
