Elliott allowed three goals on 35 shots in the Flames’ win over the Penguins on Monday. Elliott missed Wednesday’s game with an illness, but will return to the crease tonight vs. the Stars. Elliott is on a nine-game winning streak having posted an impressive 1.74 GAA, .943 SV% and two shutouts in the process.
Fast has missed the last seven games with a shoulder injury, but will return to the lineup tonight vs. the Panthers. Fast has just 20 points (5G / 15A) in 59 games this season.
It is a terrible time to be a Penguins’ defenseman because they just can’t stay healthy. Hanse left Wednesday’s game in Philadelphia and did not return and is expected to miss at least a few weeks with an upper-body injury.
Malkin missed the Penguins’ morning skate and will miss tonight’s contest with an upper-body injury. Head coach Mike Sullivan said that Malkin has been dealing with an upper-body injury “for a while” and that they will “know more soon.”
Benn decided to drop the mitts with 6-foot-7, 265 lbs. defenseman Nikita Tryamkin and was hurt in the tilt. Probably not the best idea to take on a monster and it forced Benn to miss the third period. With the Stars on a back-to-back, Benn is questionable for Friday’s game.

Hornqvist took part in the morning skate, so expect him to be in the lineup barring a setback this afternoon. He has 17 goals and 20 assists (37 points) in 58 games this season.
