Alt has just four assists in 19 AHL games this season and will play his 17th career NHL game tonight vs. the Blues. Alt will replace Mark Barberio who is out with an upper-body injury.


Russell, who failed to record a point in four games during his call-up, will return the Condors where he has nine points (4G / 5A) in 11 games. Russell will be replaced by Valentin Zykov, who was claimed off of waivers from the Hurricanes.

McDonagh was forced to leave Thursday’s game vs. the Sabres and is questionable for Saturday due to an upper-body ailment. If McDonagh doesn’t play on Saturday, look for Slater Koekkoek to get back into the lineup.

Varlamov made 36 saves on 38 shots in Colorado’s win in Nashville on Tuesday. Varlamov extended his winning streak to five games, posting a 2.21 GAA and .928 SV% in the process. The 30-year-old has been strong at the Pepsi Center, going 4-2-1 with a 2.15 GAA and .928 SV% in seven starts.

Daley was forced to leave Wednesday’s game vs. St. Louis and will miss Saturday’s game in Boston. Daley is day-to-day and is expected to be replaced by Christoffer Ehn as the Red Wings go back to 12 forwards and six defensemen.

Carlo has missed the last nine games with an upper-body injury but is expected to play Saturday vs. Detroit. Carlo has just two assists in 16 games this season.

Rask stopped 28 of 29 shots in the Bruins win over the Islanders on Thursday. Since returning to the crease, Rask has won two of four starts with an impressive a 1.70 GAA and .944 SV%. The 31-year-old is 1-0-1 with a 2.48 GAA and .918 SV% in two starts against the Red Wings this season.

Stolarz allowed four goals on 24 shots in the Flyers loss to the Senators on Tuesday. The Flyers appeared to have the game well in-hand but blew a multi-goal lead in the third period. Stolarz has now given up six goals on 59 shots (.898 SV%) in two appearances so far this season. He is a risky option against a high-powered Penguins team on the road.

Neuvirth has been out since October 27th but will serve as Anthony Stolarz’s backup on Saturday. In Neuvirth’s only NHL action of the season, Neuvirth allowed six goals on 22 shots.

Soshnikov has no points in five games with St. Louis this season and went unclaimed on waivers. He heads back to the AHL, where he had one goal in five games during a conditioning stint earlier this season.

McLeod was a first-round pick in 2016 (No.12 overall) and will skate on the Devils fourth line on Friday. The 20-year-old is a great skater, who had 44 points (16G / 28A) in 38 games with Mississauga (OHL) last year and has picked up 10 points (3G / 7A) in 21 AHL contests this season. He replaces Stefan Noesen in the lineup.

Johansson missed Monday’s game in Florida but will play Friday in Washington. Johansson has eight points (3G / 5A), 39 shots and a minus-8 rating in 21 games this season. He replaces Jean-Sebastian Dea, who was claimed off of waivers by the Penguins.

Mueller has been a healthy scratch for the last two games but will replace Egor Yakovlev in the lineup on Friday. Mueller has five assists, 19 shots and a minus-5 rating in 20 games this season.

Noesen was in the lineup for the last two games, scoring his second goal of the season on Sunday. Noesen will come out of the lineup to allow Michael McLeod to make his NHL debut.

Some more early-season struggles and Curtis McElhinney playing lights out as of late led to Darling being waived on Thursday. Darling stopped 25 of 26 shots (.962 SV%) in his only AHL action this season. He will get a lot of playing time with the Checkers to try and get his game back on track and could return to the NHL if McElhinney and/or Petr Mrazek struggle.

Gibson allowed two goals on 44 shots in the Ducks win in Florida on Wednesday. Gibson has won three of his last four starts (3-0-1) while posting a 2.51 GAA and .924 SV%. As strong as Gibson has been this season, he has had a harder time in 10 starts on the road—3-7-0 with a 2.98 GAA and .924 SV%.

Zykov was a second-round pick (No.37 overall) in 2013 and has accumulated 11 points (4G / 7A) in 25 career NHL games. The 23-year-old has posted outstanding numbers at the AHL level and could be a serviceable fantasy asset if he plays big minutes in the Oilers’ top-6.
