Clutterbuck was hurt during last Thursday’s game vs. the Canadiens and missed Monday’s practice. Clutterbuck is listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury and will remain out of the lineup tonight vs. the Capitals.
Ward allowed two goals on 28 shots in the Hurricanes’ loss to the Kings last Thursday. Ward has lost four consecutive games while posting an ugly 5.47 GAA and .832 SV%. It looks like he’ll make his 42nd start of the season and second versus the Flyers—he allowed four goals on 28 shots in a 4-3 loss back in October.
Greiss allowed one goal on 22 shots in the Islanders’ win over the Canadiens last Thursday. Greiss has won four of his last five games while allowing just six goals on 147 shots (.959 SV%) with two shutouts. Greiss is fresh off of a contract extension, but will be in tough against the Capitals tonight.
Coreau allowed four goals on 49 shots in the Red Wings’ overtime loss in Boston last Tuesday. Petr Mrazek started on Wednesday, but the Red Wings are expected to come back to Coreau tonight vs. the Devils. Coreau has gone 2-0-1 with a 2.20 GAA and .908 SV% in four starts at Joe Louis Arena.
Head coach Tom Rowe announced Reimer as his starter on Monday, but Reimer is not on the ice for the morning skate because his wife is expecting a child, so it looks like Roberto Luongo will end up starting.
Luongo allowed three goals on 42 shots in the Panthers’ loss in Arizona on January 23rd. James Reimer started last Thursday and was scheduled to start tonight, but has left the team to be with his expecting wife. Luongo has lost four in a row while posting a 3.29 GAA and .909 SV% and comes in at 1-1-0 with a 1.53 GAA and .951 SV% in his first two starts vs. the Senators.
Smith stopped all 19 shots that he faced in the Coyotes’ shutout win over the Canucks last Thursday. Smith has won three straight games while registering a 1.66 GAA, .946 SV% and one shutout. Fresh off of an All-Star nod, Smith will start tonight vs. the Kings—he allowed four goals on 33 shots in a 4-3 loss in his first start vs. Los Angeles.
Barrie missed the final four games before the All-Star break with a lower-body injury, but is expected to play Tuesday vs. the Ducks. Barrie should return on the top-pair with Fedor Tyutin and comes into play with 23 points (3G / 20A) in 42 games this season.
Perreault will miss his third straight game with a broken thumb that he suffered last Monday vs. the Ducks. Perreault is close to returning, but it won’t come Tuesday vs. the Blues. Monitor his status leading up to Thursday’s game in Dallas.
Carlson missed the final six games before the All-Star break, but it looks like he’ll play Tuesday in Brooklyn. Carlson would return to his spot alongside Karl Alzner on the top-pair and comes in with five goals and 20 assists (25 points) in 43 games this season.
Grubauer allowed three goals on 34 shots in the Capitals’ loss in Ottawa last Tuesday. Braden Holtby took part in the All-Star festivities, so the Capitals will give him an extra day off and go with Grubauer tonight against the Islanders. Grubauer has appeared in five games in January, going 3-1-1 with a 2.68 GAA and .909 SV%.
Pavelec allowed four goals on 26 shots in the Jets’ loss to the Sharks last Tuesday. Connor Hellebuyck started on Thursday, but they’ll come back to Pavelec after the All-Star break. Pavelec has posted a 3.31 GAA and .894 SV% since returning to the Jets and will be in tough in St. Louis this evening.
Allen stopped all three shots that he faced after replacing Carter Hutton in the Blues’ loss in Minnesota last Thursday. Allen has lost four in a row, has been pulled in three straight and posted a 6.05 GAA and .797 SV%. The Blues gave Allen a chance to reset and will return to the crease tonight versus the Jets.
Donskoi missed the final two games before the All-Star break and the break wasn’t long enough to get him ready for tonight’s game vs. the Blackhawks.
Letang missed the final six games before the All-Star break, but was on the ice for Monday’s practice and could be back in the lineup Tuesday vs. the Predators. Monitor Letang’s status during Tuesday’s morning skate.
Del Zotto skated for the first time since January 21st when he has hit in the right leg by a puck against New Jersey. Del Zotto has missed the last three games and it seems likely that he will miss a fourth straight game on Tuesday, but he is nearing a return.
Greiss, 31, has gone 14-7-3 with a 2.25 GAA and .928 SV% this season and has played very well since the Islanders sent Jaroslav Halak to Bridgeport (AHL). The Islanders clearly trust Greiss as their potential No.1 over the next few seasons and have locked him in through the 2020 season.
Greene missed the final five games before the All-Star break with back and groin injuries and has been placed on IR to create a roster spot and there's no timetable for his return.
Larkin missed the last two games before the All-Star break, but could be back in vs. the Devils on Tuesday. Larkin has struggled this year, but will be looking to finish 2016-17 off strong. Monitor his status during tomorrow’s morning skate.
Lundqvist allowed two goals on 26 shots in the Rangers’ loss to the Flyers last Wednesday. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Lundqvist, who has found his stride again. Over his last four starts, Lundqvist has given up just six goals on 110 shots (.946 SV%). He has gone 1-1-0 with a 3.53 GAA and .883 SV% vs. the Blue Jackets this season.
