Smith is expected to start Saturday vs. the Lightning.

Smith surrendered six goals on 35 shots in the Coyotes’ loss in Winnipeg on Wednesday. Smith has been giving up goals in bunches in January, resulting in a 1-3-1 record, 3.71 GAA and .886 SV%. The 34-year-old has allowed three or more goals in nine of his last 10 starts and shouldn’t be considered a strong fantasy option right now.

The Ducks recalled Corey Tropp from San Diego (AHL).

Tropp,27, has scored eight goals and 21 assists (29 points) in 32 games with San Diego this season. He should make his Ducks’ debut on Saturday with Jakob Silfverberg not playing. Tropp has 27 points (6G / 21A) in 148 career NHL games, with the Sabres and Blue Jackets.

Rask leads the Bruins onto the ice for warmups.

Rask allowed five goals on 25 shots in the Bruins’ shootout loss in Detroit on Wednesday. Rask has lost two in a row while allowing a combined eight goals on 40 shots (.800 SV%). January hasn’t been kind to Rask, who will make his 38th start of the season tonight. Rask comes in fifth in wins (22) and GAA (2.11) and tied for 17th in SV% (.919).

Tuukka Rask
Murray will start Friday in Carolina.

Murray allowed one goal on 20 shots in the Penguins’ win in Montreal on Wednesday. It was a much better outing than the seven goals he allowed vs. the Capitals on Monday. The 22-year-old has gone 7-4-0 with a 2.45 GAA and .911 SV% on the road this season and stopped 25 of 27 shots in two periods in his first start vs. Carolina.

Matt Murray
Johnson will start Saturday vs. the Oilers.

Johnson allowed four goals on 21 shots in the Flames’ loss to the Predators on Thursday. Johnson has gone 3-3-0 with a 2.21 GAA and .920 SV% in six starts this month and tonight will be his 29th start of the season, but just his first against the Oilers. Edmonton comes in having won four of their last five games.

Chad Johnson
Berube will start Saturday vs. the Kings.

Berube stopped both shots that he faced after replacing Thomas Greiss in the Islanders loss in Carolina last Saturday. Berube will make his third start of the season and comes into the night with an 0-2-1 record, 3.14 GAA and .904 SV% in five total appearances. Tonight he’ll face his former team, who are 8-11-3 on the road this season.

Jean-Francois Berube
The Predators have activated PK Subban (upper-body) from injured reserve.

Subban has missed the last 16 games with an upper-body injury, but will return to the lineup tonight in Edmonton. The 27-year-old has picked up 17 points (7G / 10A) in the Predators’ first 29 games before he got hurt. Subban will likely replace Alexandre Carrier in the lineup tonight.

P.K. Subban
Silfverberg (upper-body) is day-to-day and will not travel on their upcoming two-game road trip.

Silfverberg left Thursday’s game with an upper-body injury and will miss at leas the next two games. This is a tough break for Silfverberg, who is having a great season to date. The Swedish winger is on-pace for a career-high 22 goals and 27 assists this season.

Jakob Silfverberg
Miller will start Friday versus the Panthers.

Miller stopped all 30 shots that he faced in the Canucks’ shutout win over the Predators on Tuesday. Miller has gone 4-0-2 with a 1.63 GAA, .946 SV% and two shutouts. Miller has played extremely well over the last two months and comes into Friday with an 11-4-1 record, 2.04 GAA and .930 SV% on home-ice this season.

Ryan Miller
Calvert will be a healthy scratch on Saturday.

Calvert has not recorded a point in 10 games and played just 8:02 TOI on Thursday. The 27-year-old winger will come out of the lineup on Saturday and will be replaced Markus Hannikainen, who was called up from Cleveland on Friday.

Matt Calvert
Rask was the first goalie off of the ice.
