Hedman was forced to leave Tampa Bay’s last game early but is ready to play Tuesday in Dallas. Hedman has been red-hot as of late, picking up one goal and 14 assists (15 points) in his last 16 games.
Binnington stopped 21 of 22 shots in the Blues win in Dallas on Saturday. Binnington earned second star of the week honours in the NHL last week after winning all three of his starts while stopping 74 of the 76 shots (.974 SV%) that he faced. He will look to stay hot against an Islanders team that has won 11 of their last 14 games.
Stalock stopped five of six shots after replacing Devan Dubnyk in the Wild’s loss in Philadelphia last night. Stalock has not recorded a win since November 23rd and is 0-2-0 with a 3.30 GAA and .864 SV% in his last five appearances (2 stars, 3 relief). Tonight he faces the NHL’s lowest scoring team, who have lost for of their last six.
Quick allowed two goals on 40 shots in the Kings win over the Penguins on Saturday. The 32-year-old has gone 2-2-0 with a 2.76 GAA, .904 SV% and one shutout in his first four starts in January. Quick is 2-4-1 with a 3.14 GAA and .895 SV% in seven starts on the road this year.
Chiarot was not on the ice for the Jets’ morning skate and will not play on Tuesday. Luckily for the Jets, Tyler Myers is set to return from a lower-body injury of his own and will replace Chiarot on the back-end.
Myers missed the last two games with a lower-body injury but will replace Ben Chiarot on Tuesday. Myers, who will skate with Dmitry Kulikov, has four goals and nine assists in 43 games this season.
Pionk suffered a lower-body injury in Columbus on Sunday and will be out until after the NHL All-Star break. The Rangers will be without both Pionk and Frederik Claesson for at least a few weeks, so look for Tony DeAngelo and Brendan Smith to remain in the lineup.
Claesson was banged up against the Islanders on Saturday and missed Sunday’s game with a shoulder injury that should keep him out until at least early-February. This should allow Tony DeAngelo to remain in the Rangers lineup permanently moving forward.
Cave, 24, was called up by the Bruins earlier this season after picking up 18 points (6G / 12A) in 15 games with Providence (AHL). With Boston, Cave had just one goal and four assists in 20 games before being waived on Monday. Cave will help address the Oilers centre depth and should allow Leon Draisaitl to continue to play with Connor McDavid.

Brossoit has been extremely impressive this season and comes into Tuesday’s game on a six-game personal winning streak, posting a 2.47 GAA, .930 SV% and one shutout over that span. Despite playing very well, Brossoit has the tough task of facing a Vegas team that has won eight of their last nine.
Saros stopped all 13 shots that he faced after replacing Pekka Rinne in the Predators loss in Carolina on Sunday. Saros has been excellent in his last five outings (3 starts, 2 relief) going 3-0-0 with a 0.71 GAA, .975 SV% and one shutout. Additionally, he is 4-2-0 with a 2.17 GAA, .927 SV% and one shutout on home-ice this season.
Khudobin gave up two goals on 22 shots in the Stars 2-1 loss in Philadelphia last Thursday. Khudobin has been great in his last four starts, going 2-2-0 with a 1.24 GAA, .963 SV% and one shutout. Khudobin could have a tough time staying hot against the NHL’s best team. However, he is 5-2-0 with a 2.25 GAA and .927 SV% on home-ice this year.
Brossoit stopped 33 of 35 shots in the Jets win over the Red Wings last Friday. Lundqvist allowed four goals on 20 shots in the Rangers loss to the Islanders last Thursday. Lundqvist was given a “mental break” on Sunday after losing three straight while allowing a combined 15 goals on 70 shots (.786 SV%). King Henrik will look to get back on-track against the Hurricanes—he is 8-5-5 with a 2.71 GAA and .913 SV% at MSG this season.
With Danny DeKeyser set to return to the Red Wings lineup on Tuesday, Rasmussen has been placed on IR so they could keep Filip Hronek on the roster. Rasmussen won’t play Tuesday and will probably remain out through Friday.
Lehner allowed two goals on 26 shots in the Islanders loss to the Rangers on Saturday. The loss snapped an impressive eight-game winning streak for Lehner, who has a 1.52 GAA and .948 SV% over that nine-game stretch. Tonight it looks like he’ll take on a Blues team that played last night but come in having won four of their last five.
Howard allowed two goals on 18 shots in the Red Wings 5-2 win over the Wild on Saturday. It was an easy night for Howie, who is 2-3-0 with a 3.00 GAA and .894 SV% in his first five starts in January. The veteran netminder will look to string a couple of wins together and draws a nice matchup with the Ducks in town—Anaheim is on an 11-game losing streak at the moment.
Korpisalo stopped 32 of 33 shots in the Blue Jackets win in Washington on Saturday. Sergei Bobrovsky returned to the crease on Sunday but allowed five goals, so Korpisalo will start for the third time in four games. He has won his last three starts, stopping 83 of the 90 shots (.922 SV%) that he faced.
Varlamov allowed two goals on 30 shots in Colorado’s loss in Montreal on Saturday. Varlamov has not registered a win since December 15th, going 0-3-2 with a 3.04 GAA and .875 SV% in five games since. The 30-year-old is 6-7-1 with a 2.92 GAA and .908 SV% on the road this season and is a risky option vs. the high-powered Maple Leafs.
Pilut has been in the lineup for the last five games but will be replaced by Nathan Beaulieu on Monday.
