Vasilevskiy allowed three goals on 23 shots in the Lightning’s loss in New Jersey last Saturday. Ben Bishop has started the last two games, but Vasilevskiy will go tonight vs. Boston. Vasilevskiy has won two of his first three starts while posting a 2.05 GAA and .929 SV%. He is one of the best young goalies in the NHL and draws a good matchup vs. the Bruins, who are tied for 26th in scoring (2.22 G/PG).
Luongo allowed two goals on 26 shots in the Panthers’ 2-1 loss to the Bruins on Tuesday. Luongo has lost his last three starts while posting a 2.73 GAA and .899 SV%, but it looks like Bobby Lu will face his old pal Cory Schneider tonight. Luongo faced the Devils in his first start of the season—he stopped 23 of 24 shots in a 2-1 overtime win.
Holtby stopped 43 of 45 shots in the Capitals’ win over the Jets on Tuesday. It was a busy, but exceptional night for Holtby, who is expected to face Winnipeg again tonight. The 27-year-old is now 4-2-1 with a 2.13 GAA and .925 SV% in seven starts to kick off 2016-17 and should be trusted again tonight.
Lundqvist stopped all 35 shots that he faced in the Rangers’ shutout win over the Blues on Tuesday. Lundqvist has won four of his last five starts while posting a 1.81 GAA, .937 SV% and one shutout. Tonight he will face an Oilers team that has started 2016-17 at 7-2-1 and rank seventh in the NHL in scoring (3.10 G/PG).
Lehner stopped 27 of 28 shots in the Sabres’ win in Minnesota on Tuesday. Lehner has won his last two starts while stopping 64 of 66 shots (.970 SV%). Lehner has had a really strong start to the season, going 3-2-1 with a 2.34 GAA and .921 SV% in his first six starts. Tonight he will take on a Maple Leafs team that is 3-4-3 and is tied for ninth in scoring (2.90 G/PG).
Anderson left the Senators last week, only to return for two games, winning both while stopping 69 of 70 shots (.986 SV%). The Senators acquired Mike Condon from Pittsburgh yesterday, so he will share the net with Chris Driedger until Anderson or Andrew Hammond can return to the crease.
Beauvillier has appeared in the last eight games, registering five points (1G / 4A) while averaging 11:27 TOI. The Islanders need to make a decision whether or not to keep Beauviller past the nine-game mark and burn the first year of his entry-level contract.
Quine has been a healthy scratch for the last two games, but will be back in the Islanders’ lineup on Thursday. Quine has one goal on four shots in six games this season. Quine will centre the third line with Andrew Ladd and Jason Chimera on his wings.
Halak allowed three goals on 25 shots after replacing Thomas Greiss in the Islanders’ 6-1 loss to the Lightning on Tuesday. Halak has registered a 3.15 GAA and .898 SV% in six appearances this season and tonight he faces a Flyers team on the tail-end of a back-to-back. Philadelphia is second in the NHL in scoring (3.55 G/PG) through 11 games.
McCormick’s recall suggests that Mark Stone, who left Tuesday’s game, won’t be available for Thursday’s game vs. the Canucks. McCormick has one goal in six games with Binghamton this season and had four points (2G / 2A) in 20 games with the Senators last year.
Claesson, 23, has failed to pick up a point in six games with Binghamton this season. Claesson will likely serve as the Senators’ seventh defenseman after they sent Thomas Chabot to the QMJHL on Wednesday.
Stone is expected to miss his third straight game with an upper-body injury. Stone missed Wednesday’s practice and head coach Dave Tippet called him doubtful, so Stone remains day-to-day.
Domingue allowed two goals on 41 shots in the Coyotes’ win over the Sharks on Tuesday. It was easily Domingue’s best start of the year so far and he has now won two out of his last three starts while posting a 3.02 GAA and .916 SV%. Tonight he takes on a Predators team that has stumbled out of the gate, but remain a dangerous lineup for opposing goalies.
Allen was yanked after allowing four goals on 20 shots in the Blues’ 5-0 loss in New York on Tuesday. It was Allen’s worst outing of the year, but head coach Ken Hitchcock will go right back to him tonight in Dallas. Allen has posted a 2.22 GAA and .910 SV% in eight starts and draws a good matchup against an injury ravaged Stars team.
Schneider stopped 32 of 33 shots in the Devils’ win over the Lightning last Saturday. The Devils have had the last four days off, so Schneider will start his eighth game tonight in Florida. He finished October with a 1.86 GAA and .941 SV%, which both rank in the top 10 in the NHL. Schneider comes in on a three game winning streak and makes for a solid start tonight.
Fleury gave up four goals on 42 shots in the Penguins win in Philadelphia last Saturday. Matt Murray (hand) made his return to the crease last night, so the Pens will go back to Fleury tonight in Los Angeles. Fleury has won three straight games while posting a 2.67 GAA and .921 SV% and makes for a strong fantasy option on Thursday.
Letang has missed the last five games with an upper-body injury, but he will play tonight in Anaheim. Letang has registered two assists and 16 shots on goal in four games this season and will re-claim his spot on the top pair and power-play unit.
Tanev has missed the last three games but will return to the lineup on Wednesday in Montreal. Tanev will return to his spot next to Alex Edler on the top pairing as well as see power-play time with the second unit.
