Talbot surrendered three goals on 26 shots in the Oilers win in San Jose on Thursday. Laurent Brossoit started Saturday, so Talbot will go tonight vs. the Ducks. Talbot has won three of his last four starts while posting a 2.52 GAA, .919 SV% and one shutout. The 28-year-old has gone 0-2-1 with a 2.01 GAA and .939 SV% in three starts against Anaheim this season.
Sparks allowed five goals on 38 shots in the Maple Leafs OT win over the Ducks on Thursday. Jonathan Bernier has started five of the last seven games, but it looks like Sparks will go tonight in Tampa Bay. He faced the Lightning back in late February, allowing two goals on 28 shots in a 2-1 loss. Tampa comes in having won three of their last four.
Pavelec made 33 saves on 34 shots in the Jets win over the Kings on Thursday. Pavelec has won his last two starts while stopping 61 of 62 shots (.984 SV%). Michael Hutchinson started on Saturday, so they’ll come back to Pavelec tonight in Philly. The 28-year-old is 4-5-1 with a 3.09 GAA and .889 SV% on the road this season.
Johnson allowed two goals on 19 shots in the Sabres win over the Jets on Saturday. Johnson has won four of his last five starts while posting a 2.16 GAA and .921 SV%. Johnson has played well recently and tonight he faces Detroit for the third time this season—he has gone 1-1-0 with a 2.54 GAA and .911 SV% in the first two meetings.
Rinne stopped 18 of 19 shots in the Predators win over the Blue Jackets on Saturday. Rinne has won five consecutive starts while posting a 1.78 GAA and .929 SV%. RInne has been excellent in March and tonight he makes his fourth start vs. the Avalanche—he has gone 1-2-0 with a 3.07 GAA and .897 SV% in the first three meetings.
Bobrovsky allowed three goals on 24 shots in the Blue Jackets loss to the Hurricanes. Bobrovsky has gone 2-4-0 with a 3.01 GAA and .898 SV% since returning from a groin injury. Bobrovsky will make his third start of the season vs. the first placed Washington Capitals—he has gone 0-2-0 with a 3.62 GAA and .873 SV% in the firs two meetings.
Filppula has missed the last six games with an upper-body injury, but will return to the lineup tonight vs. the Maple Leafs. He will return in a great spot as he centres the top line with Steven Stamkos and Alex Killorn on his wings. Filppula has 28 points (7G / 21A) in 69 games this season.
MacArthur has not played since October 14th and has battled debilitating conclusion symptoms all year long. He will not play again this season, so he will look to get ready for the 2016-17 season. He only appeared in four games this season.
Phaneuf suffered a broken foot last Tuesday vs. the Capitals and will miss the rest of the regular season. Phaneuf had eight points (1G / 7A) in 20 games with the Senators and 32 points (4G / 28A) in 71 games between Ottawa and Toronto.
Howard gave up three goals on 14 shots after replacing Petr Mrazek in the Red Wings loss to the Penguins on Saturday. Howard has gone 2-2-0 with a 3.53 GAA and .882 SV% in four starts and two relief appearances in March. He is .500 in 12 starts at Joe Louis Arena this season and faces a Sabres team that is 21st in road scoring with 2.39 goals per game.
Giroux was injured in Saturday’s game in Arizona after being hit from behind by Coyotes’ forward Martin Hanzal. He appeared to be knocked out, but will be in the lineup tonight vs. the Jets. Giroux has eight points (4G / 4A) in 12 games in March.
Kucherov will miss his second straight game with a lower-body injury that he suffered on Friday vs. the Islanders. Kucherov will remain sidelined, but Valtteri Filppula will return to the top line vs. the Maple Leafs. Kucherov remains day-to-day.
