Holtby starts Sunday in Chicago.

Holtby gave up two goals on 32 shots in the Capitals win over the Wild on Friday. Holtby has won four of his last five despite posting a 2.71 GAA and .902 SV%. This afternoon he draws a tough matchup with Chicago in town, but Holtby is an impressive 11-2-1 with a 2.27 GAA and .922 SV% in 14 starts vs. the Western Conference this season.

Braden Holtby
Miller will likely start Sunday vs. the Sharks.

Miller allowed three goals on 30 shots in the Canucks win over the Senators on Thursday. Jacob Markstrom missed Saturday’s practice with an illness, so look for Miller to go tonight, in search of a third straight win. He has stopped 64 of the last 68 shots that he has faced (.941 SV%), but has a sub-.500 record on home ice this year.

Ryan Miller
Rask was the first goalie off of the ice at the Bruins morning skate.

Rask turned aside 39 of 40 shots in the Bruins win in Carolina on Friday. That’s now three straight wins for Rask and back-to-back games facing 40-plus shots and only allowing a single goal. Rask is 7-2-1 with a 2.65 GAA and .924 SV% in February, but he was torched for six goals on 23 shots in a 6-3 loss in his first start vs. the Lightning back in October.

Tuukka Rask
Montoya gets the nod Sunday in Minnesota.

Montoya allowed one goals on 18 shots in the Panthers shootout loss to the Sharks on February 18th. Roberto Luongo started the last three games, including yesterday, so Montoya will start game two of the back-to-back. Montoya won his first start vs. the Wild this season and is 6-2-0 with a 1.95 GAA and .930 SV% on the road.

Al Montoya
Crawford will start Sunday vs. the Capitals.

Crawford allowed two goals on 31 shots in the Blackhawks loss to the Predators on Thursday. Crawford has struggled recently, losing five of his last six, being pulled twice and posting a 3.41 GAA and .903 SV%. Things will not get any easier for him this afternoon in Washington. The Caps have won five of their last six and sit atop the NHL.

Corey Crawford
Gibson starts Sunday vs. the Kings.

Gibson allowed two goals on 24 shots in the Ducks win over the Flames last Sunday. Frederik Andersen started the first two games of the week, but Gibson will wrap it up tonight vs. Los Angeles. Gibson has gone 1-1-0 with a 2.51 GAA and .902 SV% in his first two starts against the Kings this season.

The Sabres have acquired Michael Sdao, Eric O’Dell, Cole Schneider and Alex Guptill from the Senators for Jason Akeson, Phil Varone, Jerome Gauthier-Leduc and a conditional draft pick.

Sdao, 26, was a seventh round pick (191st overall) in 2009. He never appeared in an NHL game with the Senators and had just two assists in 17 games on the Binghamton (AHL) blueline this season.

Michael Sdao
The Sabres have acquired Alex Guptill, Eric O’Dell, Cole Schneider, and Michael Sdao from the Senators for Jason Akeson, Phil Varone, Jerome Gauthier-Leduc and a conditional draft pick.

Guptill, 23, was a third round pick (77th overall) in 2010 and was acquired by the Senators as a part of the Jason Spezza deal with Dallas. He had just one assist in three games with Binghamton this season and 14 goals and nine assists in 38 games between Evansville and Manchester of the ECHL.

Alex Guptill
The Sabres have acquired Cole Schneider, Eric O’Dell, Alex Guptill and Michael Sdao from the Senators for Jason Akeson, Phil Varone, Jerome Gauthier-Leduc and a conditional draft pick.

Schneider, 25, was leading Binghamton (AHL) in points with 42 (17G / 25A) in 54 games at the time of the trade. He now heads to Rochester after spending nearly five full years with Binghamton, where he had 83 goals and 108 assists (191 points) in 263 games.

Cole Schneider
The Sabres have acquired Eric O’Dell, Cole Schneider, Alex Guptill and Michael Sdao from the Senators for Jason Akeson, Phil Varone, Jerome Gauthier-Leduc and a conditional draft pick.

O’Dell, 25, was a second round pick (39th overall) in 2008 and was in his first season with the Senators organization. The young centre has 37 points (18G / 19A) in 50 games with Binghamton (AHL) this season and eight career NHL points (3G / 5A) in 41 games with the Jets.

Eric O'Dell
The Senators have acquired Phil Varone, Jason Akeson, Jerome Gauthier-Leduc and a conditional draft pick from the Sabres for Eric O’Dell, Cole Schneider, Alex Guptill and Michael Sdao.

Varone, 25, was a fifth round pick (147th overall) in 2009. He has 32 points (13G / 19A) in 44 games with the Americans (AHL) this season and two points (1G / 1A) in five games with the Sabres.

Phil Varone
The Senators have acquired Jason Akeson, Phil Varone, Jerome Gauthier-Leduc and a conditional draft pick from the Sabres for Eric O’Dell, Cole Schneider, Alex Guptill and Michael Sdao.

Akeson, 25, has 30 points (8G / 22A) in 52 games with the Rochester Americans (AHL) this season. He has one goal and one assist in 15 career NHL games with the Flyers. Akeson is a native of Orleans, Ontario, which is a suburb of Ottawa, so this is a homecoming for the young winger.

Jason Akeson
The Penguins have acquired Justin Schultz from the Oilers for a third-round pick.

Schultz, 25, has seen his offensive numbers slip since posting 27 points (8G / 19A) in 48 games in his rookie season. He lacked confidence and often served as a healthy scratch this season, posting 10 points (3G / 7A) in 45 games. He heads to Pittsburgh where he should land a regular role on their third line with Ben Lovejoy sidelined, but until we see more offence, he should remain on the waiver wire.

Justin Schultz
The Panthers have acquired Jakub Kindl from the Red Wings for a 2017 6th round pick; Detroit retains 15 percent of Kindl's contract.

Kindl, 29, has cleared waivers twice this season and has split his season between Detroit and Grand Rapids (AHL). He has six points (2G / 4A) in 25 games with the Red Wings and four points (3G / 1A) in 10 games with the Griffins. He provides the Panthers with blueline depth for nearly nothing.

Jakub Kindl
The Panthers have acquired Teddy Purcell from Edmonton for a third round pick.

Purcell, 30, has picked up 11 goals and 21 assists (32 points) in 61 games in his second season in Edmonton. After spending four and a half years with Tampa Bay (2010-2014) he heads back to the state of Florida, with the Panthers this time around. Purcell will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.
