He has stopped 64 of the last 68 shots that he has faced (.941 SV%), but has a sub-.500 record on home ice this year.
Rask turned aside 39 of 40 shots in the Bruins win in Carolina on Friday. That’s now three straight wins for Rask and back-to-back games facing 40-plus shots and only allowing a single goal. He lacked confidence and often served as a healthy scratch this season, posting 10 points (3G / 7A) in 45 games. He heads to Pittsburgh where he should land a regular role on their third line with Ben Lovejoy sidelined, but until we see more offence, he should remain on the waiver wire.
