Bishop allowed four goals on 30 shots in the Lightning’s loss in Florida on January 23rd. The Lightning used Andrei Vasievskiy in their final game before the break so that Bishop would be rested enough after playing in the All-Star to start tonight vs. the Red Wings. This is a huge matchup and Bishop comes in at 0-2-0 with a 2.05 GAA and .923 SV% in two starts vs. Detroit this season.
Korpisalo stopped 28 of 30 shots in the Blue Jackets win in Montreal last Tuesday. He won back-to-back games vs. the Habs and has won four of his last six while posting a 2.14 GAA and .935 SV%. Tonight he will face an Oilers team that has lost three in a row, but they will get Connor McDavid back in the lineup.
Domingue surrendered five goals on 25 shots in the Coyotes loss in Winnipeg last Tuesday. Domingue started 11 games in January and went 6-3-2 with a 2.20 GAA and .925 SV% to win the Rookie of the Month. The 23-year-old has been great for the Coyotes and tonight he will make his third start of the season vs. Los Angeles—he has gone 1-0-1 with a 2.99 GAA and .902 SV% in the first two meetings.
Crawford was yanked after allowing three goals on 16 shots in the Blackhawks loss in Carolina last Tuesday. It was a rough finish to an excellent month for Crawford, who finished January at 9-2-0 with a 1.64 GAA, .952 SV% and two shutouts. Crawford will make his third start of the season vs. the Avalanche—he has gone 1-1-0 with a 2.52 GAA and .921 SV% in their first two meetings.
Mason missed the last two games with a lower-body injury, but will go tonight vs. Montreal. He has lost his last three starts while posting a 2.95 GAA and .919 SV%. Overall he went 3-2-1 with a 2.29 GAA and .929 SV% in January and draws a great matchup to start February—Montreal comes into play having gone 1-6-1 in their last eight.
Andersen gave up two goals on 34 shots in the Ducks win in Boston last Tuesday. Andersen has won three straight games while posting a 1.67 GAA and .940 SV%. Tonight, Andersen will face the Sharks for the second time this season. The first meeting was back on October 10th—he stopped 42 of 44 shots in a 2-0 loss.
Niemi made 23 saves on 24 shots in the Stars win over the Flames on January 25th. It looks like he will make his fourth straight start after winning two of his last three with a 2.03 GAA and .906 SV%. Niemi will face the Jets in Winnipeg tonight—he has gone 5-5-5 with a 2.85 GAA and .905 SV% on the road this season.
Talbot surrendered three goals on 24 shots in the Oilers loss to the Predators before the All-Star break. He has lost two in a row but finished January at 4-4-1 with a 1.96 GAA and .932 SV%. Tonight he draws a strong matchup against a Blue Jackets team that has gone 4-2-1 in their last seven. Talbot comes in at 3-3-0 in his last six on home ice.
Perreault missed last Tuesday’s game vs. the Coyotes, but will return to the lineup tonight vs. the Stars. Perreault comes into play with 31 points (7G / 24A) in 48 games this season.
Mrazek turned aside 27 of 29 shots in the Red Wings 4-2 win over the Islanders last Monday. Mrazek was excellent in January, going 7-1-1 with a 1.32 GAA, .952 SV% and two shutouts. Mrazek has vaulted himself into the Vezina Trophy conversation, ranking second in the NHL in SV% (.932), third in GAA (2.03), 10th in shutouts (3) and 13th in wins (18). He is a must-start despite drawing a tough matchup vs. the Lightning.
Methot has missed the last five games, but took part in the morning skate and could be back in the lineup tonight. Methot is listed as a game-time decision, so monitor his status during pre-game warmups.
After spending the first four months in the AHL, Lessio will make his Canadiens debut tonight. Less has registered 10 goals and 11 assists (21 points) in 42 games between Springfield and St. John’s (AHL).
Cammalleri will not play on Tuesday and will be out until at least Saturday. With Cammalleri out, Joseph Blandisi will skate on the Devils’ first line.
Moore will miss his third straight game with a lower-body injury. Moore took part in the Devils’ morning skate and said he is ready to go, so expect him to be available for Thursday’s game in Toronto.
