NHL Hockey Player News

Ullmark will likely start on Monday.

Ullmark allowed two goals on 21 shots in the Sabres loss to New Jersey on December 15th. Chad Johnson has started the last three games, but it will be Ullmark tonight vs. the Capitals. Ullmark has gone 3-6-0 with a 2.59 GAA and .904 SV% on home ice, but should be avoided tonight due to the terrible matchup.

Linus Ullmark
Krejci (upper-body) left Sunday's game and did not return.

Krejci left Sunday’s game after playing 14:25 TOI. He registered a goal before getting hurt, but it remains to be seen how long he will be out. Krejci has been great this season, so losing him would be a huge blow to the Bruins’ attack.

David Krejci
The Canadiens recalled Mark Barbeiro from St. John's (AHL) on Sunday.

Barberio will likely get a chance to face his former team tonight. The 25-year-old blueliner has collected two goals and 18 assists (20 points) in 26 games with St. John’s this season. He has 17 career points (6G / 11A) in 103 career NHL games.

Mark Barberio
Fowler (lower-body) left Sunday's game and did not return.

Fowler left Sunday’s game after playing just 3:36 TOI and he did not return. There was no word on the nature or severity of his lower-body injury, but he should be considered questionable for Tuesday’s game. Fowler has an assist in each of his last two games, but has just 12 points (3G /9A) in 34 games this season.

Cam Fowler
Pickard will start Monday in San Jose.

On Monday, Pickard will make his first NHL start of the season. He has made two relief appearances, stopping 21 of 25 shots (.840 SV%) that he has faced. In his time with the San Antonio Rampage (AHL), he was 9-8-4 with a 2.75 GAA and .917 SV%. He draws a fairly good matchup against a Sharks team that is 26th in the NHL in goals on home ice (2.23 G/PG).

Calvin Pickard
The Canadiens have sent Dustin Tokarski to St. John's (AHL).

Tokarski was 1-3-0 with a 3.18 GAA and .878 SV% in his time with the Canadiens. Montreal acquired Ben Scrivens this morning, so he will become their new backup with Tokarski going back to St. John’s. Tokarski has gone 2-3-3 with a 3.20 GAA and .900 SV% with the IceCaps this season.

Dustin Tokarski
The Montreal Canadiens have acquired Ben Scrivens from the Edmonton Oilers for Zack Kassian.

Scrivens, who was the Oilers starter last year, has gone 2-6-1 with a 3.47 GAA and .893 SV% with Bakersfield (AHL) this season. The Canadiens wanted to get rid of Kassian and are in need of goaltending help with Carey Price still out. Scrivens has registered a career 2.90 GAA and .905 SV% in his four-year NHL career.

Ben Scrivens
The Edmonton Oilers have acquired Zack Kassian from the Montreal Canadiens for Ben Scrivens.

Kassian, 24, has not appeared in a game yet this season because of a suspension that stemmed from a car accident in September. The former first-round pick has 66 points (35G / 31A) in 198 career NHL games with the Sabres and Canucks. He will report to Bakersfield (AHL).

Zack Kassian
Mason leads the Flyers onto the ice for warmups.

Mason allowed three goals on 29 shots in the Flyers win over the Blues on Monday. Mason has started the last three games, going 2-0-1 with a 1.62 GAA and .951 SV%. He has picked up his play as of late and will make a fourth consecutive start. Get him in your lineup with a juicy matchup vs. the Ducks.

Steve Mason
Gibson leads the Ducks onto the ice for warmups.

Gibson allowed three goals on 22 shots in the Ducks OT loss in New York on Tuesday. Despite posting an impressive 1.97 GAA since being recalled, Gibson has just four wins in nine starts. The Ducks lack of offence is dragging Gibson down and until they find a spark, he remains as a No. 2 fantasy option.

John Gibson
Zatkoff will start on Sunday in Winnipeg.

Zatkoff allowed six goals on 34 shots in the Penguins loss to the Bruins on December 18th. Matt Murray has started the last three games, but Zatkoff will start the second game of the back-to-back. Zatkoff comes into play with a 2.95 GAA and .918 SV% in seven games this season.

Jeff Zatkoff
Lehtonen leads the Stars onto the ice for warmups.

Lehtonen was pulled after allowing two goal on four shots in the Stars win in Minnesota on Monday. Antti Niemi started last night, so Lehtonen will go tonight vs. the Blues. Lehtonen has gone 4-2-0 with a 3.14 GAA and .898 SV% in seven starts on home ice this season.

Kari Lehtonen
Lindback will start Sunday in Colorado.

Lindback allowed four goals on 10 shots in the Coyotes loss to Columbus on December 17th. Louis Domingue has started the last three games, but it will be Lindback tonight in Colorado. Lindback has gone 2-3-0 with a 3.20 GAA and .895 SV% in five road starts this season.

Anders Lindback
McElhinney will be in goal on Sunday.

McElhinney allowed one goal on seven shots in the Blue Jackets loss in Tampa Bay last night. Joonas Korpisalo struggled and with the back-to-back, McElhinney will start tonight in Florida. McElhinney has a 3.32 GAA and .883 SV% on the season, so there are safer spot-start options available tonight.

Curtis McElhinney
Condon will start Monday in Tampa Bay.

Condon allowed three goals on 33 shots in the Canadiens loss in Washington on Saturday. Condon continues to struggle; he has now lost each of his last seven starts while posting an ugly 3.37 GAA and .869 SV%. Tonight Condon will have a new backup after the Habs acquired Ben Scrivens from Edmonton.

Mike Condon
Rask will start in Ottawa on Sunday.

Rask allowed two goals on 29 shots in the Bruins loss to the Blues on Tuesday. Jonas Gustavsson started last night, so the Bruins will go back to Rask tonight in Ottawa. Rask has gone 5-1-2 with a 1.29 GAA and .957 SV% in December ad has been spectacular on the road this year—in nine road starts he has gone 7-1-2 with a 1.83 GAA.

Tuukka Rask
Howard will be in goal in Winnipeg on Tuesday.

Howard was yanked after allowing three goals on six shots in the Red Wings loss to New Jersey last Tuesday. Petr Mrazek has started the last two games, but it will be Howard in Winnipeg tonight. He has not won a game since December 3rd and sits 1-0-3 with a 2.70 GAA and .921 SV% in the month of December. He will make his sixth road start of the year and has gone 2-0-3 away from home.
