NHL Hockey Player News

Ward will start on Monday in New York.

Ward was pulled after he allowed three goals on 14 shots in the Hurricanes’ loss to the Sabres on Friday. Tonight Ward will close out November with his 10th start of the month—he has gone 3-3-3 with a 2.62 GAA and .893 SV% in his first nine starts in November. One of those losses came in New York on November 10th, he allowed three goals on 23 shots in a 3-0 loss.

Cam Ward
Nilsson will start Monday in Toronto.

Nillson stopped 39 of 41 shots in the Oilers win in Pittsburgh on Saturday. It was a fantastic performance from Nilsson, who continues to outperform Cam Talbot. Tonight he will wrap up November with his 10th start of the month—in his previous nine outings he has gone 4-4-1 with a 2.43 GAA and .914 SV%. He makes for a solid start tonight vs. a bad Leafs team who will give Garret Sparks his first NHL start.

Anders Nilsson
Lundqvist starts Monday vs. the Hurricanes.

Lundqvist allowed four goals on 34 shots i the Rangers loss in Boston last Friday. Lundqvist has now lost two in a row and three off his last five while posting a 3.11 GAA, .906 SV% and one shutout. Lundqvist is the sole reason the Rangers sit near the top of the Eastern Conference, because they’ve been a terrible possession team all season. King Henrik pitched a 33-save shutout in his first start vs. Carolina.

Henrik Lundqvist
Anderson will start for the Sens on Tuesday.

Anderson allowed four goals on 19 shots in the Senators loss in Arizona on Saturday. It was an ugly way to have his four-game winning streak snapped. Anderson ultimately went 6-2-2 with a 2.56 GAA, .925 SV% and two shutouts in the month of November. Tonight he faces a Flyers team that has won three of their last four, but still rank last in the NHL in scoring.

Craig Anderson
Schultz (upper-body) could play on Tuesday vs. Ottawa.

Schultz was injured in Saturday’s win in New York, but it looks like he will be in the lineup on Tuesday. Schultz has no fantasy value having registered just one assist in 24 games this season.

Nick Schultz
Stepan will miss 4-6 weeks with broken ribs.

Stepan suffered two broken ribs vs. the Bruins and will miss at least one month. Stepan has had an OK start to the season, posting 12 points (6G / 6A) in 23 games. He will be out until early-to-mid January, which will give Kevin Hayes and Oscar Lindberg bigger offensive roles.

Derek Stepan
Boyle will be back in the Rangers lineup on Monday.

Boyle served as a healthy scratch in the last two games but will be back in the lineup tonight vs. the Hurricanes. Boyle has just four assists while averaging 17:44 TOI in 18 games this season. With Boyle back in, Dylan McIlrath will come out.

Dan Boyle
Price (lower-body) will miss a minimum of six weeks; will not require surgery.

Price missed nine games with a lower-body injury earlier in November and aggravated the injury in his third game back. Price will miss at lest six weeks, which means he will miss the Winter Classic and will be out until mid-January. If Price misses six weeks he will miss 18 games, which means Mike Condon has big shoes to fill and will have Dustin Tokarski as his backup.

Carey Price
Greiss will be in goal on Monday vs. the Avalanche.

Greiss allowed two goals on 31 shots in the Islanders win in Tampa Bay on Saturday. Tonight, Greiss will be making his sixth start to Jaroslav Halak’s eight in November, showing Greiss’ strong play has earned the coaches trust. This month he is 3-3-0 but has posted a strong 1.96 GAA and .929 SV%. Tonight will be his sixth start on home-ice, he is 2-2-20 with a 2.46 GAA and .919 SV% at the Barclays Center so far.
