Howard will likely start Friday vs. the Sharks.

Howard allowed two goals on 22 shots in the Red Wings loss to the Stars last Sunday. In seven outings, Howard has only won three games in seven outings despite posting a 2.07 GAA and .932 SV%. Howard has gone 3-3-0 at home this season and it looks like he will face a Sharks team who have lost five of their last seven.

Jimmy Howard
Umberger will miss 1-2 weeks with a lower-body injury.

Umberger will miss his second straight game tonight and is now expected to miss the next week or two with a lower-body ailment. With Umberger out, look for Vincent Lecavalier to play more regularly.

R.J. Umberger
Luongo starts Thursday vs. the Sabres.

Luongo allowed three goals on 28 shots in the Panthers win over the Flames on Tuesday. The win snapped a three-game losing skid for Bobby Lu, who has gone 4-5-2 with a 2.36 GAA and .928 SV% in 11 starts this season. Tonight he will face the Sabres for the second time this season, in the first meeting he stopped 24 of 26 shots in a 3-2 win.

Roberto Luongo
Lundqvist will be between the pipes on Thursday.

Lundqvist stopped all 33 shots that he faced in the Rangers 3-0 shutout win over the Hurricanes. Lundqvist has now won four straight games while posting an unreal 1.00 GAA and .967 SV%. He is red-hot right now but runs into Jake Allen and the Blues, who are equally hot.

Henrik Lundqvist
Mason (illness) returns to the Flyers' crease on Thursday.

Mason allowed three goals on 33 shots in the Flyers loss in Vancouver on November 2nd. Michal Neuvirth started the last four games, but the Flyers will go back to their No. 1 tonight vs. the Capitals. Mason has a 3.34 GAA and .902 SV% in eight starts this season. He is an extremely risky start tonight with Alex Ovehckin an the Capitals rolling into town.

Steve Mason
Medvedev (upper-body) is expected to return to the lineup on Thursday.

Medvedev has missed the last five games with an upper-body injury, but he will replace Brandon Manning in the lineup tonight. Medvedev will play on the top pair with Mark Streit, he has one assist and a minus-1 rating in 10 games this season.

Yevgeni Medvedev
Rask was the first goalie off of the ice for the Bruins.

Rask made 36 saves on 37 shots in the Bruins win over the Islanders on Sunday. The win snapped an ugly two-game losing streak where Rask allowed a combined eight goals. His overall numbers (3.22 GAA / .891 SV%) are still ugly and not where you would like them to be, but he draws a solid matchup tonight with Colorado in town.

Tuukka Rask
Bishop gets the nod on Thursday vs. Calgary.

Bishop gave up one goal on 25 shots but still walked away on the wrong side of a 1-0 final last Saturday. Andrei Vasilevskiy has been getting playing time since being recalled, so tonight will mark Bishop’s third start in November. Despite posting a strong 1.63 GAA and .941 SV% in his last five starts, Bishop has lost all five of those contests.

Ben Bishop
Hammond will start Thursday vs. the Canucks.

Hammond allowed three goals on 46 shots in the Senators loss in Carolina last Saturday. Hammond has faced a high volume of shots in his first three starts this season—averaging 36 shots against so far. However, he appears to enjoy the heavy workload, because he has posted a strong .926 SV%. He makes for a decent spot-start option with the 7-4-5 Canucks in town.

Andrew Hammond
The Red Wings have signed Justin Abdelkader to a seven-year deal worth $28.75M ($4.25M AAV).

Abdelkader, who had a career-high 23 goals and 21 assists last season, opened this year with a hat trick, but since then he has only scored one goal with three assists in 14 games. Abdelkader will be paid $4.5 million until he is 36-years-old.

Justin Abdelkader
Ward is in the starter's crease this morning.

Ward allowed three goals on 23 shots in the Hurricanes loss in New York on Tuesday. The Hurricanes couldn’t beat Henrik Lundqvist, so there wasn’t much Ward could do. Overall, Ward is 5-6-0 with a 2.45 GAA and .904 SV% this season, but draws a tough matchup vs. the Wild tonight. Ward is 2-2-0 at home.

Cam Ward
Mason in the starter's crease this morning.

Steve Mason
Hammond is in the starter's net this morning.

Berra will start Thursday vs. the Bruins.

Berra stopped all 25 shots that he faced in the Avs’ shutout win over the Flyers on Tuesday. Colorado has found some newfound confidence in Berra after he has posted a spectacular 1.50 GAA and .952 SV% in six games this season. Semyon Varlamov is day-to-day with a groin injury so as long as Berra continues to play well, look for him to start for the foreseeable future.
