Portillo has been loaned to Ontario (AHL).

With Darcy Kuemper (undisclosed) activated from Injured Reserve, Portillo has been sent down to Ontario (AHL). Portillo was the third-round pick, 67th overall, of the Buffalo Sabres in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut last week, saving 28 of 29 shots (.966 SV%) in a 2-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks.

Erik Portillo
Lewis (lower-body) has been placed on IR.

Lewis exited Saturday's 5-2 win over the Ottawa Senators due to a lower-body injury after playing only 1:14 time-on-ice and will be sidelined for the next 4-6 weeks. The 37-year-old Lewis is averaging 10:50 time-on-ice and has seven points (3G / 4A) in 25 games this season.

Trevor Lewis
Kuemper (undisclosed) has been activated from IR.

Kuemper has missed the last seven games due to an undisclosed injury but will return to the lineup on Wednesday, serving as the back up to David Rittich against the Dallas Stars. This was Kuemper's second stint on the sidelines due to injury as he missed five games earlier in the season with a lower-body issue. Before his injury, the 34-year-old Kuemper was sporting a 2.65 GAA and .899 SV% in 10 appearances (4-2-3).

Darcy Kuemper
Eriksson Ek is out week-to-week with a lower-body injury.

Eriksson Ek nearly made it through the entire game on Tuesday, exiting due to a lower-body injury in overtime after playing 21:11 time-on-ice. The 27-year-old Eriksson Ek was off to a slow start to the 2024-25 season, scoring only 13 points (5G / 8A) in 22 games, but had four points (0G / 4A) in his last four contests.

Joel Eriksson Ek
Husso will start in Ottawa on Thursday.

With Alex Lyon and Cam Talbot sidelined with lower-body injuries, Husso will continue to operate the crease for the Red Wings. Husso was solid in his third start of the season on Monday, but was on the wrong end of a 3-2 overtime loss to the Boston Bruins, despite saving 32 of 35 shots (.914 SV%). The 29-year-old Husso has spent most of the 2024-25 season at the AHL level, posting a 1.58 GAA and .944 SV% in five appearances (4-0-0) with the Grand Rapids Griffins.

Ville Husso
Rittich is expected to start vs. Dallas on Wednesday.

Darcy Kuemper (undisclosed) is nearing a return to the lineup, but Rittich will continue his hold of the Kings' crease on Wednesday against the Dalla Stars. Rittich was solid in his previous outing, saving 20 of 22 shots (.909 SV%) in a 5-2 win over the Ottawa Senators. The 32-year-old Czech netminder has a 2.48 GAA and .887 SV% in 16 games (9-6-0). The Kings enter Wednesday's contest as slight -102 home underdogs against a Stars club riding a three-game winning streak.

David Rittich
Kirkland underwent successful ACL surgery and will be out for the remainder of the 2024-25 season.

Kirkland played only 1:05 time-on-ice before exiting Friday's game with a lower-body injury and will miss the remainder of the 2024-25 season. The 28-year-old Kirkland played a career-high 21 games this season, scoring eight points (2G / 6A) while averaging 9:42 time-on-ice.

Justin Kirkland
Fowler (upper-body) will return from injury vs. Vegas on Wednesday.

Fowler played a season-low 17:11 time-on-ice for the Ducks on November 5th and has missed 11 games since. The 32-year-old Fowler is leading all Ducks, averaging 21:17 time-on-ice this season and has two points (0G / 2A) in 12 games this season. Pavel Mintyukov will be a healthy scratch on Wednesday to accommodate Fowler's return to the lineup.

Cam Fowler
Gibson will start in Anaheim on Wednesday.

The Ducks have only scored 60 goals this season, the second-fewest in the league, but have maintained a reasonable 10-10-3 record due to great goaltending. The Ducks have only allowed 67 goals this season, top-five in the NHL, and will turn to Gibson between the pipes on Wednesday against the Vegas Golden Knights. The 31-year-old Gibson has a solid 2.48 GAA and .916 SV% in six games this season (4-1-1). The Ducks enter Wednesday's contest as +134 home underdogs against a Golden Knights club that defeated them 3-2 on November 13th.

John Gibson
Ersson (lower-body) has been cleared to return and is an option for Thursday vs. Florida.

Ersson has not played since November 11th, missing nine games due to a lower-body injury, but could return to the lineup on Thursday against the Florida Panthers. Before his injury, Ersson was beginning to come to form, allowing only seven combined goals in his last five outings (3-0-1), posting a stellar .940 SV%.

Samuel Ersson
Woll is expected to start vs. Nashville on Wednesday.

The Maple Leafs have received tremendous goaltending from both netminders on most nights and will likely roll with Woll between the pipes on Wednesday against the Nashville Predators. The 26-year-old Woll is sporting a solid 2.13 GAA and .923 SV% in eight games this season (6-2-0). He has allowed three or fewer goals in seven straight (6-1-0), posting a .933 SV%. The Maple Leafs enter the action on Wednesday as -135 home favorites against a Predators club amid a four-game losing skid.

Joseph Woll
Saros is in the starter's crease at Nashville's morning skate.

The Predators will attempt to snap a four-game losing skid on Wednesday and likely turn to Saros between the pipes. Despite the team's recent struggle, Saros has played serviceably, allowing three or fewer goals in 12 of his last 13 (4-5-4) and posting a stellar .921 SV%. The Predators enter Wednesday's contest as +138 road underdogs against a Toronto Maple Leafs club that has won five of its last six (5-1-0).

Juuse Saros
McCabe (upper-body) will remain out for a second-straight game on Wednesday vs. Nashville.

McCabe exited Saturday's 5-3 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning after only 11:27 time-on-ice due to an upper-body injury. The 31-year-old McCabe is averaging 21:20 time-on-ice and has five points (0G / 5A) in 23 games. He will miss a second straight game on Wednesday but is not expected to be out of the lineup for long.

Jake McCabe
Mrazek will start vs. Boston on Wednesday.

Mrazek struggled in his last game, allowing five goals on 35 shots (.857 SV%), but will return to the crease on Wednesday against the Boston Bruins. Despite his recent blip, Mrazek has been solid between the pipes this season, posting a 2.79 GAA and .908 SV% in 18 games (7-10-1). The Blackhawks, losers of three straight, enter Wednesday's contest as +130 home underdogs against a Bruins club riding a two-game winning streak.

Petr Mrazek
Nylander will be a healthy scratch vs. Nashville on Wednesday.

Ryan Reaves will draw back into the lineup for the Maple Leafs on Wednesday, sending Nylander to the sidelines as a healthy scratch. In four games with the Maple Leafs, the 26-year-old Nylander is averaging 10:02 time-on-ice and has zero points.

Alex Nylander
Reaves will return from his five-game suspension on Wednesday vs. Nashville.

Alex Nylander will be a healthy scratch on Wednesday, allowing Reaves to draw back into the lineup for the first time since November 16th. The 37-year-old Reaves is averaging 7:51 time-on-ice, recording one point (0G / 1A), 23 penalty minutes, and 44 hits in 16 games.

Ryan Reaves
Carlsson (upper-body) is still day-to-day but skated on his own on Tuesday.

Carlsson was on the receiving end of a hit by Tye Kartye of the Seattle Kraken last Monday and exited the game shortly after, playing only 6:28 time-on-ice. Carlsson, in his second NHL season, has 11 points (6G / 5A) in 20 games. He has been skating on his own and remains day-to-day.
