Hutton gave up four goals on 24 shots in the Predators loss to the Bruins on December 23rd. He has no wins in four games with a 2.74 GAA and .895 SV% this season. He draws a brutal matchup tonight in Anaheim.
McElhinney stopped all three shots that he faced after replacing Sergei Bobrovsky last night. McElhinney has gone 2-6-1 with a 3.25 GAA and .899 SV% in nine starts and 12 appearances this season. He will take on the .500 Avalanche who rank 23rd in the NHL in scoring.
Varlamov allowed a single goal on 28 shots in the Avs’ shootout win over the Oilers on Friday. He has won three of four starts with a 1.68 GAA and .935 SV% since returning from injured reserve. Tonight he will face the Blue Jackets at home—Varly is 5-3-1 with a 2.08 GAA and .938 SV% at Pepsi Center this season.
