Johnson is expected to start for the Islanders.

Johnson allowed three goals on 21 shots in the Islanders loss to the Canadiens on Tuesday. With Jaroslav Halak on IR with a lower-body injury, it should be Johnson tonight in Buffalo. He hasn’t has a great season, but he draws a strong spot-start matchup tonight and is worth consideration.

Chad Johnson
Enroth will start in goal for the Sabres.

Enroth surrendered four goals on 37 shots in the Sabres loss to the Sabres on Saturday. He has allowed four goals in each of his last three starts, and draws a really difficult matchup tonight with the Islanders in town. Enroth is 7-6-1 with a 2.62 GAA and .921 SV% at home this year.

Jhonas Enroth
McElhinney will start on Saturday vs. Boston.

McElhinney allowed one goal on five shots after replacing Sergei Bobrovsky in Monday’s loss to the Nashville. Bob was not on the ice this morning, so he must be dealing with an injury, which is why McElhinney will start vs. the Bruins. He is 1-6-1 with a 3.49 GAA and .895 SV% this season.

The Penguins have recalled Jeff Zatkoff from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL).

Penguins net minder Thomas Greiss tested positive for mumps on Friday, so Zatkoff has been recalled to serve as Marc-Andre Fleury’s backup until Greiss is set to return.

Jeff Zatkoff
The Islanders have recalled Kevin Poulin from Bridgeport (AHL).

Poulin, 24, has gone 10-6-4 with a 2.41 GAA and .928 SV% in 20 games with Bridgeport this season. He has been recalled because Jaroslav Halak has been placed on IR with a lower-body injury. Poulin is expected to backup Chad Johnson tonight in Buffalo.

Kevin Poulin
The Islanders have placed Jaroslav Halak (lower-body) on IR.

Halak did not suit up on Tuesday with what was classified as maintenance. It turns out that Halak was battling a lower-body injury, which will keep him out of tonight’s game vs. the Sabres. Kevin Poulin has been recalled and expect Chad Johnson to get the nod in Buffalo.

Jaroslav Halak
But Bishop is expected to return from a lower-body injury Saturday when the team hosts Carolina.

Bishop missed the four games with a lower-body injury, but he is on the ice for the morning skate and is expected to start tonight vs. the Hurricanes. He has lost each of his last four starts, but has a fantastic matchup tonight and should make for a great fantasy start if he ends up getting the nod.

Ben Bishop
Havlat tested negative for mumps and has been cleared to return to the team.

Havlat missed Tuesday’s game because he was in isolation being tested for mumps. His test results came back negative on Friday and he should be in the lineup on Saturday in New York.

Martin Havlat
Elias tested positive for mumps and was placed on IR on Friday.

Elias missed Tuesday’s game because he was being tested for mumps. His results came in on Friday and revealed that he does in fact have mumps and he will remain in isolation from the team until he has passed the infectious stage of the virus.

Patrik Elias
Sutter tested negative for mumps and has been cleared to return to the team.

Sutter missed the last two games while he was in isolation being tested for mumps. His results came back negative and he can return to the team, which likely means he will be back in the lineup on Saturday vs. the Capitals. Sutter has 14 points (7G / 7A) in 32 games this season.
