Grabner (lower-body) will not play on Monday.

Grabner is listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury, so he will not play tonight. There is no word on when he suffered the injury, but he has played just five games since returning from offseason sports hernia surgery. Casey Cizikas will replace Grabner vs. the Devils.

Halak will be in goal vs. the Devils.

Halak stopped 23 of 25 shots in the Islanders 3-2 win over the Blackhawks on Saturday. It was a nice bounce-back performance for Halak, who had lost back-to-back while allowing a combined 11 goals. Tonight, he makes his second start vs. the Devils; he made 34 saves in a 3-1 win in their first matchup.

The Devils have recalled Tim Sestito from Albany (AHL).

Sestito, 30, is off to the best of his AHL career having recorded 13 points (6G / 7A) in 26 games this season. He could be in the lineup tonight for Mike Cammalleri who is out with a bone bruise. Sestito has six assists in 86 career NHL games.

Lecavalier (lower-body) was back at Flyers practice on Monday.

Lecavalier has not played in the last six games, but he was believed to be a “healthy scratch” for at least three of those games. His return to practice today is a sign that he is getting healthy, but there is no word when he will get back into the lineup.

The Penguins have placed Zach Sill (upper-body) on injured reserve.

Sill suffered the upper-body injury in his first shift on Friday vs. the Flames. He missed Saturday’s game and will obviously miss tonight’s game after being placed on IR. He is eligible to return Saturday vs. the Panthers.

The Hurricanes have placed Andrej Nestrasil (upper-body) on injured reserve.

Nestrasil has missed the last two games with an upper-body injury. His placement on IR is retroactive to November 8th, which means he is eligible to come off of IR whenever he is healthy. Consider him day-to-day.

The Hurricanes have recalled Justin Shugg from Charlotte (AHL).

Shugg, 22, was a fourth round pick (105th overall) in 2010. He has never played in an NHL game, but is in his fourth season in the AHL. He has nine goals and two assists (11 points) in 17 games with Charlotte this season.

Tomas Vokoun announced his retirement on Sunday night.

Vokoun, 38, was a ninth round pick of the Canadiens in 1994. He only played 20 minutes with Montreal before moving to Nashville, where he would spend eight seasons. He would later play four seasons in Florida followed by a season with both the Capitals and Penguins. Vokoun finished his career with a 300-288-43 record, 2.55 GAA, .917 SV% and 51 shutouts.

Lundqvist starts both games of the Rangers back-to-back.

Lundqvist allowed one goal on 30 shots in the Rangers 5-1 blowout win over the Canucks last night. After a rough night in Tampa Bay at the start of December, Lundqvist has won each of his last two games while stopped 61 of 65 shots (.939 SV%). Tonight he could come in clutch with a great Sunday night matchup.

Erixon will make his Blackhawks debut on Sunday.

Erixon was acquired from the Blue Jackets for Jeremy Morin this morning and will make his Hawks debut tonight vs. the Flames. Erixon had one goal and five assists in 19 games with Columbus before being dealt.

Raanta gets the call for the Blackhawks.

Raanta allowed three goals on 41 shots in the Hawks’ win over the Canadiens back on December 5th. Scott Darling started the last four games, including last night, but Raanta will be back in tonight vs.the Flames. Raanta is undefeated at home (3-0-0) with a 1.33 GAA and .965 SV% this season.

Quick leads the Kings onto the ice for warmups.

Quick allowed three goals on 35 shots in the Kings’ 5-3 win over the Senators on Thursday. Martin Jones got the call on Friday, so Quick will be back in goal on Sunday in Toronto. In his last five starts, he 2-3-0 with a 1.82 GAA and .926 SV%. He faces a Maple Leafs team who have won four in a row while outscoring their opponents 14-5.

Reimer leads the Leafs onto the ice for warmups

Remier skated on Saturday morning so his tweaked groin is good-to-go today vs. the Kings. He had a stellar outing on Wednesday, stopping 41 of 42 shots in the 2-1 shootout win over the Red Wings. Today it looks like he will be the one to take on the Kings, a team who are 1-2-0 on their current road-trip.

Smid (upper-body) is out indefinitely.

According to head coach Bob Hartley Smid will be out “for a while.” There is no official timetable for his return. With Smid out tonight, Raphael Diaz will slide back onto the third pairing with Deryk Engelland.
