Granlund was a late scratch on Monday, with his absence not being announced prior to warmups, and he will miss a second straight game. Macklin Celebrini centered the Sharks first line in his place. The 27-year-old Blackwood is having a fine season between the pipes for a defensively-prone Sharks club, posting a 3.07 GAA and .907 SV% in 14 games (4-7-3). That said, the Sharks enter Wednesday's contest as +181 home underdogs against an Ottawa Senators squad that snapped a five-game losing skid in their previous game, a 4-3 victory over the Calgary Flames.

Roope Hintz is battling an undisclosed ailment and will not play on Wednesday against the Chicago Blackhawks, allowing Blackwell to re-enter the lineup for the first time since November 14th. Colin Blackhwell will draw into the Stars' lineup in the interim.

Jake Oettinger had a forgetful night in the Stars' previous game, a 6-4 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes, and the club will revert to DeSmith between the pipes on Wednesday night against the Chicago Blackhawks. DeSmith allowed four goals on 27 shots (.852 SV%) in his most recent outing, a 4-2 loss to the Anaheim Ducks, but has been serviceable in limited action for the Stars this season, posting a 2.22 GAA and .914 SV% in six appearances (2-3-0). The Stars enter Wednesday's contest as sizeable -229 road favorites against a Blackhawks club they have outscored 7-3 in two games this season (2-0-0).

Seattle enters Wednesday's contest as -196 home favorites against an Anaheim Ducks club in the bottom tier of the NHL offensively, averaging only 2.5 goals per game.
