The Hurricanes have sent Ryan Murphy back to Charlotte (AHL).

Murphy, 20, has totalled 12 points (2G /10A) in 46 NHL games with the Hurricanes during his first full professional season. He has also played 16 AHL games for Charlotte in 2013-14, earning 18 points (1G / 17A). Murphy is tied for first among Checkers defensemen in assists this season, and was on an 11-game assist streak at the time of his recall to Carolina on March 6.

No surprise, Bobrovsky starts for the Blue Jackets.

Bobrovsky allowed two goals on 32 shots, but the Jackets were unable to beat Evgeni Nabokov at the other end, resulting in a 2-0 loss. With the Red Wings in town, Bob obviously gets the start in a game with massive playoff implications. Bobrovsky is 1-1-0 with a 1.51 GAA and .958 SV% vs. Detroit this season. He has gone 7-4-1 in March.

Bernier is the first goalie off of the ice at the Leafs' morning skate.

Here is another sign that Bernier is ready to return from a groin strain that forced him to miss the last five games. We will wait for confirmation from Randy Carlyle. Bernier is 25-16-7 with a 2.61 GAA and .925 SV% this season. His potential return could not have come at a better time. The Leafs are sliding in the wrong direction in the Eastern Conference playoff race. Tonight, they have a tough test with the Blues in town.

Jonathan Bernier
All signs are pointing towards Bernier (groin) starting tonight.

Bernier is in the 'starter's crease, taking shots while Reimer and MacIntyre share the other net, it really looks like he will be back tonight vs. the Blues. He has missed the last five games with a groin strain, we await confirmation after the morning skate.

Jonathan Bernier
Halak (lower-body) will return to the Capitals' crease on Tuesday.

Halak was set to start on Saturday, but was a late scratch due to a lower-body injury. Halak stopped 27 of 28 shots in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Kings in his last outing. Halak's injury was obviously minor and will be back in the crease vs. L.A again. He has gone 0-2-1 with a 2.30 GAA and .914 SV% against the Kings this season.

Jaroslav Halak
Ward expected to start in goal for the Canes.

Ward stopped 34 of 36 shots in a win over the Jets on Saturday. Ward's season has started to take a turn for the better, having won three of his last four starts with a 2.50 GAA and .920 SV%. Tonight, it looks like he will take on a banged up Islanders squad. He stopped 22 of 25 shots in a 4-3 win in his first start vs. the Isles, however John Tavares will not be in the lineup this time around.

Cam Ward
Scrivens likely to start for the Oilers.

Scrivens was already expected to start Tuesday, but after Viktor Fasth was injured in practice on Monday, it seems like virtual guarantee that Scrivens will be between the pipes. Scrivens allowed three goals on 15 shots after replacing Fasth in Saturday's 8-1 loss to the Flames. It could be another long night for the Oilers with the Sharks in town.

Ben Scrivens
Bobrovsky expected to start in goal vs. Detroit.

Bobrovsky allowed two goals on 32 shots, but the Jackets were unable to beat Evgeni Nabokov at the other end, resulting in a 2-0 loss. With the Red Wings in town, it doesn't surprise anyone that Bob will likely start in a game with massive playoff implications. Bobrovsky is 1-1-0 with a 1.51 GAA and .958 SV% vs. Detroit this season. He has gone 7-4-1 in March.

Sergei Bobrovsky
Stuart (upper-body) returned to the Sharks lineup on Monday.

Stuart played 19 minutes and 57 seconds, including a game high three minutes and four seconds on the penalty kill. He was credited with two hits and one blocked shot. It was his first game since February 7th and head coach Todd McLellan viewed it as a success. “I thought he played well. He had some jump in his stride,” McLellan said. “The conditioning part of it looks really good. The rust part of it is going to come, but he was better than I thought he would be. That’s a real positive thing for us.”

Brad Stuart
Couture is "fine" and may play Tuesday after leaving Monday's game in the first period and not returning.

Couture was injured while blocking a shot on Monday vs. the Flames. He attempted to return to the game in the second period, but retired to the dressing room after one shift. Monitor Couture's status prior to tonight's 9:30 ET puck-drop. He had 12 points in his previous 13 games before Monday.

Logan Couture
Zetterberg (back) expected to be cleared for contact around April 11th, definitely out for the rest of the regular season.

Zetterberg has been out since the Olympics after undergoing back surgery on February 14th. “At around eight weeks he’ll be cleared for physical contact (approximately April 11),” GM Ken Holland said. “Before the end of the season he’ll be back skating, but I just don’t know when.” If the Red Wings mix of healthy regulars and Grand Rapids Griffins can get them to the playoffs, they should get a huge boost when their captain returns in the post-season.

Henrik Zetterberg
Datsyuk (knee) will be reevaluated Wednesday.

The Red Wings announced on March 5 that Datsyuk was being shut down for three weeks to give his ailing knee time to heal, after which time he would be re-evaluated. The three week point is Wednesday, so doctors and trainers will take a look at Dats and decide where to go from there. Datsyuk tweeted Monday night that he has started skating and is “hoping to play soon.” That is positive news and the Red Wings could really use Datsyuk back in their lineup as they continue to push for the playoffs.

Pavel Datsyuk
Smith left Monday night's game vs. the Rangers after an incident in which New York's Derick Brassard landed awkwardly on top of Smith.

Smith grabbed for his right leg, and appeared to be in pain. He left the game and was helped off the ice and appeared to be able put only minor pressure on his leg as he stepped off the ice. Smith's leg appeared to be twisted and with only 10 games left in the Coyotes season, Smith's season appears in jeopardy. He will be re-evaluated on Tuesday, but Thomas Greiss will start Tuesday.

Mike Smith
Price will be in goal on Tuesday.

Price was given the night off on Monday vs. the Bruins, but will be back in goal tonight vs. the Sabres. He stopped 33 of 36 shots in a win in Toronto on Saturday. Since returning from injury, he hast won three of four starts despite posting a 3.28 GAA and .906 SV%. He should be considered a must-start with Buffalo in town.

Carey Price
Varlamov will start in goal for the Avs, who still hope to overtake Chicago for home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

Varlamov gave up two goals on 28 shots in a loss to the Bruins on Friday. Varly has had a strong month, holding his opponents to two or fewer goals in six of his last seven starts. Tonight, he takes on the Predators, he has posted a 2-1-0 record with a 3.36 GAA and .882 SV% vs. Nashville this season.

Semyon Varlamov
Greiss will start Tuesday with Mike Smith out with a lower-body injury.

Greiss allowed two goals on nine shots after replacing Smith in Monday's OT loss last to the Rangers. The injury looks like it could be serious and Greiss could be the Coyotes netminder for the remainder of their playoff push. He has been strong when called up this season, posting a 7-5-2 record with a 2.38 GAA and .924 SV%. Greiss draws a tough assignment vs. the Penguins tonight.
