With Reto Berra now in Colorado and Karri Ramo still on IR, Ortio is the Flames starter for the foreseeable future. He draws a strong matchup vs. the Islanders tonight.

Joni Ortio
Phaneuf (undisclosed) will play on Saturday.

Phaneuf was not at Maple Leafs practice again on Friday, the defenseman has not practiced since Sunday and reportedly spent awhile in the training room following Wednesday's win over the Rangers. Whatever is ailing Phaneuf, must not be too serious as he will play on Saturday against the Flyers.

The Sabres have recalled Nicolas Deslauriers from Rocheser (AHL) on an emergency basis.

Deslauriers was acquired by the Sabres on Wednesday and could make his NHL debut tonight in Florida. The Sabres have recalled Luke Adam from Rochester (AHL) on an emergency basis.

Adam has been recalled because Chris Stewart and Zemgus Girgensons were injured on Thursday. Adam has one goal in nine games with the Sabres this season. While in Rochester he has 24 goals, 18 assists (42 points) and a plus-12 rating in 42 games. No word on if he will be in the lineup tonight.

Jakub Kindl
Gustavsson starts the second game of the back-to-back for Detroit.

Gustavsson stopped 37 of 38 shots in a win over the Senators last Thursday. The Red Wings are coming off of a disappointing OT loss to the Avs last night, so Gustavsson will look to right the ship tonight vs. the Devils. The Wings blew a third period lead against New Jersey on Tuesday, they will look to finish things out with two points tonight with 'The Monster' between the pipes.

Jonas Gustavsson
Khudobin gets the call for the Hurricanes.

Khudobin allowed two goals on 37 shots in a 3-2 victory over the Sharks on Tuesday. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for Khudobin. Tonight he will get the call against the Rangers as he continues to solidify himself as the Hurricanes' clear number-1. Khudobin has gone 8-4-0 with a 1.89 GAA and .933 SV% in 12 starts at PNC Arena this season.

Anton Khudobin
In obvious news.... Luongo will start for the Panthers.

He's back in FLA! After playing in Florida from 2000-2004, Luongo was traded to the Canucks where he played seven and a half seasons, before being traded back on Tuesday. All the controversy surrounding Lu is gone, he has a clean slate with the Panthers and it all begins tonight vs. Buffalo. He was 19-16-6 with a 2.38 GAA and .917 SV% with the Canucks this season. He is a must-start vs. the Sabres.

Roberto Luongo
Semin is back on the ice Friday after having a 'maintenance day' on Thursday.

Semin appears set to play tonight vs. the Rangers despite taking Thursday off. He has one goal and one assist in his last two games after missing a contest with a lower-body injury. Semin has 32 points (16G/16A) in 49 games this season.

Khudobin practicing in the 'starter's crease' this morning.

Khudobin allowed two goals on 37 shots in a 3-2 victory over the Sharks on Tuesday. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for Khudobin. Khudobin has gone 8-4-0 with a 1.89 GAA and .933 SV% in 12 starts at PNC Arena this season.

Anton Khudobin
Girgensons (lower-body) will not play Friday.

Girgensons left Thursday's contest after playing just 6:53 and did not return. It was a good win for the Sabres, but they lost Girgensons and winger Chris Stewart in the process. They likely will not recall anyone from Rochester (AHL) and Zenon Konopka will silde into the lineup for Girgensons and Cory Conacher for Stewart.

Zemgus Girgensons
Stewart (lower-body) will not play Friday.

Stewart left Thursday's game after suffering a lower-body injury in a collision with Lightning goalie Anders Lindback chasing down the puck for a breakaway late in the game. WIth Stewart out, expect Cory Conacher to make his Sabres debut tonight in Florida. Consider Stewart day-to-day.

Chris Stewart

Lehtonen leads the Stars onto the ice for warmups.

Lehtonen allowed two goals on 23 shots in a win over the Sabres on Monday. He was given Tuesday off in favour of Dan Ellis (now with Florida) but will get the start tonight instead of Tim Thomas making his Stars debut. He will take on a Vancouver team he is 2-0-0 with a 1.00 GAA and .972 SV% against this season.

Kari Lehtonen
Eller will be back in the Habs lineup Thursday.

Eller served as a healthy scratch on Wednesday, but will get back into the lineup on Thursday vs. the Coyotes. Eller has struggled mightily as of late after a hot start to the season. In Eller's last 21 games he has recorded just one assist, his last goal was on December 31.
