Thomas gave up four goals on 30 shots as the Panthers overcame a two-goal deficit in the third period to beat the Red Wings 5-4 in a shootout last night. On Tuesday he will make his return to Boston for the first time since leaving. He allowed three goals in a lost to the Bruins in October.

Bishop stopped 25 of 27 shots in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Avalanche. It was his third straight win and 26th of the season, which ranks 3rd in the NHL, while his .934 SV% is 1st and 1.96 GAA and also 3rd. He has been straight ridiculous this season, roll him regardless of matchups.

There was some concern over whether Hartnell would play tonight after being spotted in a walking boot over the weekend. He will be back in his familiar spot with Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek. Hartnell has two goals and six assists in his last 10 games.

Enroth gave up four goals on 32 shots in a 5-3 loss to the Hurricanes on Thursday. With Ryan Miller starting last night, it looks like the Sabres will turn to Enroth tonight. He is 1-10-4 with a 2.67 GAA and .910 SV% this season. He faces a Capitals team who finally found some offence in their last contest (5-0 win @ MTL).

Hamonic has missed the last eight games with a concussion, but is eligible to come off of IR and return to the lineup whenever he is able to play. He skated at Monday's morning skate, so he is expected to be close, however his placement on IR and the recall of Matt Donovan all but rules him out for Wednesday's Stadium Series game against the Rangers.

With Lubomir Visnovsky being activated from IR on Monday, Donovan had to be sent down, but this morning they placed Travis Hamonic (concussion) on IR so Donovan is back. He will serve as the team's eighth defenseman, but will likely see some action as Matt Carkner and Radek Martinek typically shuffle in and out of the lineup.

Mason gave up four goals on 19 shots before being yanked in Saturday's 6-1 debacle vs. the Bruins. It was the third time that Mason has been pulled in 2014. He sits 3-4-1 with an ugly 3.60 GAA and .877 SV% in the New Year, but catches a break with his matchup tonight. He will face the Red Wings for the second time this season and for the second time they will be without Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg.

McElhinney stopped 10 of 11 shots after replacing Sergei Bobrovsky on Saturday. In his last start he allowed three goals on 31 shots in a win over the Jets (Jan. 11). Tonight he will start against a Senators team who have dropped four of their last five.

Rinaldo has missed the last 10 games with a high-ankle sprain, but is really close to returning. Getting rid of the non-contact jersey suggests that he could play tonight, but there is no real need for him to be in the lineup against the Red Wings.

Bernier stopped 12 of 13 shots after taking over for James Reimer in Saturday's 5-4 OT loss to the Jets. The Maple Leafs goaltending has allowed 12 goals in their last two games heading into tonight's contest vs. the visiting Lightning. Bernier is 11-7-1 with a 2.79 GAA and .917 SV% at home this season.

Stoa has nine goals and 15 assists (24 points) in 36 games for Hershey this season. He has not played in the NHL since the 2010-11 season with Colorado, he had four points (2G / 2A) in 25 games that year. With Brooks Laich taking a maintenance day on Monday, Stoa is likely insurance in case Laich is unavailable tonight.

Kuemper allowed three goals on 32 shots in a 3-2 OT loss to the Sharks on Saturday. Tonight he will make his eighth consecutive start and and ninth in the last 11 games. In his previous eight starts since being recalled, Kuemper is 5-2-1 with a 1.83 GAA and .941 SV%. He draws the tough assignment of trying to beat the Ducks in Anaheim tonight.

Quick allowed two goals on 20 shots in a 3-0 loss at Dodgers Stadium on Saturday. He has lost four games in a row despite only allowing nine goals (2.25 G/PG). It does not get any easier for Quick tonight, he will face the 34-12-6 San Jose Sharks on the road.

Lehtonen stopped all 24 shots that he faced in a 3-0 win over the Penguins on Saturday. It was a huge win over a great team. Lehtonen will need to be at his best once again with the Avalanche in town tonight. Lehtonen is 0-1-1 with 4.38 GAA and .883 SV% in two prior starts against Colorado.

Johnson allowed two goals on 23 shots in a win over the Kings last Monday. He has won each of his last two starts while posting a 2.00 GAA and .930 SV%. With him getting the nod tonight, that leaves Tuukka Rask to take on Tim Thomas and the Panthers tomorrow. He has a subpar matchup against an Isles team with a strong O.

“He was shooting the puck very well. Better than he has been over the last week," said Sharks head coach Todd McLellan. "That just shows progress. His legs and lungs have been maintained very well. I think when he finally gets the go-ahead to really get involved the conditioning will come quick. The timing will take a couple games, but is he on pace to play before the Olympic break? I sure hope so, but I can’t answer that definitively.” Couture will miss his 10th straight game tonight.

Zetterberg is day-to-day with a sore back. He was a last-minute scratch from Sunday's 5-4 shootout loss to Florida. By sitting out the Philly game, Zetterberg will get close to a week off before possibly playing Friday, when the Wings host Washington.

Datsyuk hasn't played since January 1 because of a lower-body injury. He had been skating, then took a few days off, then began practicing again. He's considered close, but that's been his status for several days now.

Greene hasn’t played since leaving the Kings’ 1-0 win over Vancouver on January 13 during the second period. Darryl Sutter said on January 21 that the injury was a concussion. Greene, who will likely see time with multiple defensive partners, indicated that he expects to start alongside Willie Mitchell.
