The Devils have recalled Joe Whitney from Albany (AHL).

Devils' GM said they are looking from someone to play on the LW with Travis Zajac and Jaromir Jagr and wanted to give Whitney a look there. Whitney is a 25 -year-old, undrafted forward. He is undersized at 5-foot-6 and 165 lbs. Whitney is in his third full season with Albany, he has 36 points (16G / 20A) in 40 games this season. Whitney has totalled 57 goals and 74 assists (131 points) in 178 career AHL games.

Bishop will be between the pipes for Tampa Bay.

Bishop stopped 48 of 51 shots in a win over the Hurricanes on Sunday night. He was peppered all night, but was equal to the task. Since returning from his sprained wrist, Bishop is 2-1-1 with a 2.47 GAA and .932 SV%. Tonight he meets a surging Senators team who have received some strong goaltending from tonight's starter Craig Anderson.

Ben Bishop
Enroth was the first goalie off at the Sabres morning skate.

Enroth gave up four goals on 33 shots in a loss to the Flyers on January 14. Despite a decent 2.57 GAA and .913 SV% in 15 outings, Enroth is still stuck on one win. We are nearing February and it is becoming increasingly more difficult to trust a goalie with only one win at this point of the season. He will take on a surging Hurricanes team tonight.

Jhonas Enroth
Nabokov (leg) participated in the Islanders morning skate but is not ready to return yet.

Nabokov will miss his ninth consecutive game tonight since injuring his leg on January 6. He faced shots for the first time since the injury which is a step in the right direction. Kevin Poulin has filled-in nicely for Nabby, so they can take their time with this second lower-body injury of the season.

Evgeni Nabokov
Poulin gets the nod for the Islanders.

Poulin stopped 30 of 33 shots in a Tuesday's win over the Rangers. The win was his 11th of the season and his sixth in his last eight starts. Poulin has filled in nicely for Evgeni Nabokov, but will be in tough against a highly-talented Penguins squad.

Kevin Poulin
Bobrovsky will start for the Blue Jackets tonight.

Bobrovsky surrendered three goals on 29 shots in a win over the Kings on Tuesday. Bobrovsky has been excellent since returning from injury on January 6. He has won six straight starts while position a 1.95 GAA and .938 SV%. He will face a Flyers team coming off of two straight losses including one last night vs. Carolina.

The Bruins have recalled Zach Trotman on an emergency basis.

Trotman's recall suggests that neither Adam McQuaid or Dougie Hamilton will return for Saturday's game. If one of them improve over the next two days, Trotman will be returned to the AHL.

Zach Trotman
Lundqvist is expected to start for the Rangers .

Lundqvist missed Monday's game because of the stomach flu, but is expected to start on Thursday. In his last start he allowed one goal on 25 shots in a win over the Capitals. Lundqvist has been great recently, he has won five of his last six starts while posting a 1.34 GAA and .958 SV%. He will face a Blues team who is one of the NHL's best, coming off of a 7-1 blowout loss to the Devils.

Henrik Lundqvist
Kuemper in line to start on Thursday.

Kuemper allowed four goals on 36 shots in a 4-0 loss to the Stars on Tuesday. The Wild struggled to muster any offence throughout which ultimately spelled disaster for Kuemper. He comes into play on Thursday with a 4-2-0 record, 1.80 GAA and .941 SV% in January, but he draws a scary matchup vs. the Blackhawks.

Darcy Kuemper
Halak gets the nod on Thursday.

Halak allowed four goals on 14 shots after replacing Brian Elliott on Tuesday. It was a rough night all around for the Blues, but that likely won't become a trend. On Thursday, Halak will take on a Rangers squad who have won six of their last eight games while outscoring their opponents 23-14.

Jaroslav Halak
Smith gets the start for the Coyotes.

Smith allowed four goals on 29 shots in a loss to the Maple Leafs on Monday. After winning back-to-back starts for the first time since November 9 & 12, Smith got diced up by Phil Kessel and the Leafs. Smith has a great matchup to earn his 18th win of the season tonight vs. Calgary. He stopped 22 of 24 shots in a 4-2 win over the Flames on October 22.

Mike Smith
Khudobin leads the Hurricanes onto the ice for warmups; he starts.

Khudobin stopped 15 of 17 shots after replacing Justin Peters on Sunday. With Peters struggling it is no surprise that Khudobin will start tonight in Philly. Since returning from his ankle injury Khudobin is 5-2-0 with a 2.07 GAA and .935 SV%. He already has one win over the Flyers this season.

Anton Khudobin
Sedin (upper-body) remains day-to-day.

Sedin did not skate on Wednesday which puts his status for Thursday's contest in jeopardy. When his ironman streak was intact, he likely would have tried harder to be in the lineup, but now that that is over the Canucks will tread lightly with their star playmaker.
