Pouliot, 21, has one goal and two assists in seven games with the Penguins this season. While in WBS he has 21 points (7G / 14A) in 25 games. His recall suggests that he will play tonight if Kris Letang (head) can’t go.

Crawford was given last night vs. Arizona off, presumably to save him for tonight’s game in Pittsburgh. He allowed five goals on 33 shots in a loss to the Stars on Sunday. He comes in having gone 3-4-0 with a 2.89 GAA and .917 SV% in January. He will face an Penguins team who have lost three straight.

Letang left the game and did not return. An in-person hearing means that Rinaldo can be suspended for more than five games and given that he is a repeat offender, that is almost a guarantee.

Letang was expected to visit with doctors this morning after suffering an apparent head injury in last night’s game vs. the Flyers. His presence on the ice this morning suggests that he could be available tonight, so expect an update after the skate.

Lauridsen did not end up playing on Tuesday because Carlo Colaiacovo was surprisingly in the lineup.

Manning registered one shot on goal in 17:20 of ice time last night vs. the Penguins. The Flyers are done until after the All Star break, so they have reassigned Manning so they don’t have to pay him.

Letang left Tuesday’s game after an illegal hit from Zac Rinaldo. Letang underwent concussion protocol following the game, but will visit with doctors this morning to determine the nature and severity of the injury. Expect an update later today or over the All Star break.

Cole played just 3:12 before retiring to the dressing room for the night. There is no immediate word on how serious the injury is, but he will have the All Star break to recover. Expect an update to come on Wednesday.

The Blues have extended Brodeur’s leave of absence past the one-week that he was originally granted. With Brodeur being the third goalie on the Blues roster, there is likely little playing time available for him, so he is at home weighing his options.

Mueller has not dressed for the Sharks since December 11th. With the All Star break looming, he will head to Worcester to get a couple of games in, before likely returning to the team next week. With Justin Braun out, Mueller will have a good chance to work his way back into the lineup.

DeMelo, 21, was a sixth-round pick (179th overall) of the Sharks in 2011. He has three goals and 10 assists (13 points) in 38 games with Worcester this season. He has been recalled because Justin Braun is out and Mirco Mueller has been sent down on a conditioning stint.

Sharks coach Todd McLellan said that Wingels will be out “weeks” after suffering an upper-body injury in Monday’s game vs. the Devils. With Wingels out for next little while, expect Barclay Goodrow to get back into the lineup.

Braun will be out for “weeks” according to coach Todd McLellan. Braun suffered an upper-body injury in Monday’s loss to New Jersey and will be missed on the Sharks’ blue line for at least a couple of weeks. With Braun out, San Jose recalled Dylan Demelo from Worcester (AHL).

Varlamov allowed three goals on 30 shots in the Avalanche 3-1 loss to the Blues on Monday. He has lost his last two starts, but has gone 4-2-1 with a 2.01 GAA and .947 SV% in his last seven starts. He draws an average matchup against an improving Bruins who will be in the second game of a back-to-back set.

Ortio allowed one goal on 34 shots in the Flames win in Los Angeles on Monday. Since being recalled, Ortio has been unbelievable. He has won all four of his starts while posting a 1.23 GAA and .958 SV%. On Wednesday it looks like he will get his fifth straight start in Anaheim.

Rask allowed two goals on 30 shots in the Bruins loss to the Blue Jackets on Saturday. The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for Rask, who will start the first game of their back-to-back tonight in Dallas. He has been a miserable 5-6-2 with a 2.86 GAA and .907 SV% on the road this season.

Lehtonen turned aside 38 of 41 shots in the Stars 6-3 win over the Blackhawks on Sunday. He has been under siege as of late, but has made 66 saves on 73 shots (.904 SV%) in winning efforts in his last two starts. Dallas is not good defensively, which will hurt Lehtonen’s numbers, but he continues to rack up wins.

Miller allowed a single goal on 24 shots in the Canucks win in Florida last night. Despite the back-to-back, Miller will start again tonight, in the Canucks last game before the All Star break. He has won three in a row while posting a 0.33 GAA, .988 SV% and two shutouts. He is as hot as they come, but does have a scary matchup tonight in Tampa Bay.
