NHL Hockey Player News

DAL trades Derek Roy to VAN for Kevin Connauton and a 2nd round pick.

The Canucks were desperately seeking another centre with Ryan Kesler out with a broken foot. Roy has four goals and 18 assists in 30 games with the Stars this season. He should continue to be a solid fantasy player with his new team.

Derek Roy
Rinne likely in net in back to back situation.

Rinne has lost each of his last three starts while posting a 2.48 GAA and .917 SV%. He has played well this season but the Predators have struggled offensively which has limited Rinne's fantasy value. He has a solid matchup tonight vs. the Avalanche.

Pekka Rinne
Miller will get the start tonight in Pittsburgh vs. Vokoun

Miller allowed two goals on 31 shots and the Sabres could not solve Anton Khudobin at the other end, losing 2-0 on Sunday. He has a tough matchup tonight vs. the Penguins. Look elsewhere.

Ryan Miller
Bergeron to Carolina for A. Hall and a 2013 7th round pick. #tradecentre

Bergeron has only appeared in 12 games this season and scored just one goal and four assists. The 32-year-old defenseman posted 24 points in only 43 games last season. He is good on the power-play because he has a heavy shot, which should help the Hurricanes who rank last in the NHL in PP%. He should see plenty of PP time, which should increase his production and subsequently his fantasy value.

Marc-Andre Bergeron
Braden Holtby is the first goalie off the ice, he gets the start in Carolina tonight.

Holtby allowed five goals on 34 shots in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Flyers on Sunday. He will be looking to have just as good of an April as he did March when he was 8-4-1 with a 2.29 GAA and .925 SV%. He has a good matchup tonight against a Carolina team who has lost eight out of their last nine games.

Braden Holtby
Anton Khudobin is first goalie off the ice at morning skate and appears to be tonight's starter against the Ottawa Senators

Khudobin stopped all 26 shots that he faced in a 2-0 shutout win over Buffalo on Sunday. He has played very well this season and has given the Bruins no reason not to trust him. Khudobin is 7-3-0 with a 2.07 GAA and .925 SV% this season. He won his only start against the Senators this season.

Anton Khudobin
Vokoun is the first goalie off the ice.

Vokoun stopped all 12 shots he faced after Marc-Andre Fleury got hurt last Tuesday and then posted back-to-back shutouts on Thursday and Saturday. He has not given up a goal in the last 162:42 so there is no reason for him not to get the start. He has a great matchup tonight vs. the Sabres and is a must-start the way he is playing right now.

#Sabres finally announce the signing of Providence senior Tim Schaller, the reigning Hockey East Defensive Forward of the Year.

Schaller had eight goals and 15 assists in 38 games as a member of Providence College this season. He scored 29 goals and 39 assists in 131 games in four years at Providence.
