Foligno got tangled with St. Louis’ Roman Polak 1:58 into the game, causing his leg to bend awkwardly as he fell – but Sabres coach Ted Nolan said it wasn’t as bad as it appeared. “But he’s going to be out probably the rest of the year,” he told reporters in St. Louis.With winger Drew Stafford likely out again tonight in Detroit, the Sabres will need to recall someone from Rochester, Nolan said.

Doughty was injured when he went for a hit on Sharks forward Tyler Kennedy mid-way through the first period. This is Vey’s fourth re-call of the season. The 22-year-old rookie has appeared in 18 games for the Kings this season (his first in the NHL), recording five points (all assists) and zero penalty minutes. Vey will join the team in San Jose but will not play tonight.
