Grubauer starts for the Capitals.

Grubauer allowed four goals on 28 shots in a 5-4 shootout win over the Flyers on Sunday. In four starts he is 3-0-1 with a 2.06 GAA and .937 SV%. He has played one period against the Hurricanes this month after relieving Braden Holtby on December 3. He came in and stopped all nine shots that he faced during the final frame.

Anderson starts on Saturday.

Anderson allowed four goals on 35 shots in a 4-2 loss to the Panthers on Thursday. After giving up four goals it is a bit of a surprise to see the Senators turning to him against Phoenix on Saturday. Anderson stopped 37 of 40 shots in a 4-3 OT win over the Coyotes on October 15.

Gustavsson starts against his former team on Saturday.

Gustavsson allowed two goals on 22 shots in a 3-2 OT win over the Flames on Thursday. He gave up a weak goal in the first period, but was able to recover and lead the Red Wings to their first W in seven games. He will take on his former team in Toronto on Saturday.

DeKeyser (shoulder) will return to the Red Wings lineup on Saturday.

DeKeyser's original timetable was 3-6 weeks and he will have returned in four weeks. He has not played since November 19, but will suit up against the Maple Leafs on Saturday. There is no word on who will come out of the lineup with DeKeyser back, but he did take Jakub Kindl's spot on the second power-play unit, so it could be Kindl or Brian Lashoff.

Jets will start Ondrej Pavelec in net tonight.

Pavelec gave up four goals on 31 shots in Tuesday's loss to the Sabres. The loss marked five straight as his last win came on December 2. Tonight he will face the Panthers for the second time this month. In the firs tempting he surrendered five goals on 26 shots in a 5-2 loss in Florida.

Jonas Hiller getting fifth straight start for Ducks.

Hiller shut the door on 16 of 18 shots in a easy 5-2 win over the Red Wings on Tuesday. Hiller has now win five straight starts and is 5-0-1 with a 1.79 GAA and .939 SV% in December. Hiller will take on the Devils for the second time this season, he allowed gave up four goals on 25 shots in a 4-3 OT loss the first time around.

Raanta will start for the Blackhawks.

Raanta stopped 27 of 28 shots in a 3-1 defeat of the Predators on Tuesday. Take out the rough outing against the Maple Leafs, Raanta has won his other five starts while allowing just eight goals. He will be between the pipes with Canucks in town, he is 3-0-1 with a 1.82 GAA and .936 SV% at home.

Nabokov in goal for the Islanders.

Nabokov allowed two goals on 36 shots in a shootout loss against the Lightning on Tuesday. Despite going 0-0-2 he has been solid in both starts since returning from a groin injury, positing a 1.42 GAA and .951 SV%. He will face a struggling Rangers squad tonight and could make for a solid start.

On Thursday, the Oilers sent forward Linus Omark to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for a conditional 6th round pick.

Omark was drafted in the fourth round (97th overall) in 2007. He has skated in 66 NHL games with the Oilers registering eight goals and 22 assists (30 points). In 29 games with the Oklahoma City Barons this season, Omark has 14 goals and 15 assists (29 points). On a weak Sabres squad he is expected to battle for playing time with the NHL club.

Cam Ward will start in net for the Hurricanes tonight against the Capitals.

Ward gave up five goals on 29 shots in a 5-4 OT loss to the Oilers on December 10. Ward has struggled allowing three-plus goals in seven of eight starts since returning from a lower-body injury. He carries a 1-1-1 record with a 3.66 GAA and .869 SV% into tonight's tilt with Washington.

Lundqvist will make his eighth consecutive start.

Lundqvist surrendered three goals on 32 shots in a shootout loss to the Penguins on Wednesday. Despite suffering a neck injury in the contest, he is feeling well enough to face the Islanders the evening. Lundqvist has struggled in December, going 2-3-2 with a 3.31 GAA and .883 SV% in seven starts.

Schneider starts for the Devils.

Schneider allowed three goals on 23 shots in a 3-2 loss to the Penguins last Friday. Martin Brodeur made the next two starts, but it will be Schneider tonight looking for his first win since November 30. He will be in tough with the Anaheim Ducks coming to town - Schneider is 2-2-2 with a 1.45 GAA and .930 SV% at home.

Hutton starts for the Preds.

Hutton stopped 24 of 27 shots in Thursday's loss to the Blackhawks. It was a tough matchup so expectations were not too high, but he still had a solid game. It would be his fifth consecutive start if he takes on the Lightning tonight. Hutton is 3-1-0 with a 1.64 GAA and .949 SV% since reclaiming the starting role.

Reimer leads the Maple Leafs onto the ice for warmups; he starts.

Reimer stopped 20 of 23 shots in a loss to the Panthers on Tuesday. He has allowed three goals in five straight contests and is 1-4-1 in his last six starts. He draws a pretty difficult matchup tonight with the Coyotes and their fifth ranked offence in town.

Miller leads the Sabres onto the ice for warmups; he starts.

Miller allowed two goals on 27 shots in a 4-2 win over the Jets on Tuesday. The win moved Miller to 7-17-0 on the season and he is likely to chalk up loss number-18 tonight with the Bruins in town. In his first start against the B's he allowed five goals on 34 shots in a 5-2 loss. Miller is 2-2-0 with a 1.98 GAA and .937 SV% in December.

Johnson leads the Bruins onto the ice for warmups; he starts.

Johnson stopped five of seven shots in relief of Tuukka Rask last Saturday in Vancouver. Johnson has won his last five straight starts while allowing just nine goals and stopping 136 of 145 shots (.938 SV%). He makes for a solid spot-start option against the Sabres tonight.
