Stalberg was hurt Tuesday night in the first period of a 2-0 win against Tampa Bay. He was checked by Dmitry Korobov 5:39 into the period and skated off favouring his right arm before heading to the locker room. The Predators signed him to a four-year contract in the offseason hoping he could help their anemic offence.

Thomas is in Panthers camp on a professional tryout. Starting tomorrow's game would suggest that Thomas is close to signing a deal with the Panthers.
“I felt better as the game went on,” Giroux said. “I think the first period was just getting back in the game and making plays.” Giroux won 9 of 11 faceoffs, which is a good sign that his hand is OK.

“It’s not serious,” general manager Paul Holmgren said. “I don’t think he was going to play on Thursday anyway.” It sounds like Voracek is going to be fine for the Flyers season opener on October 2nd.

Due to the abundance of forwards the Red Wings have and being pushed up against the cap, Nyquist could start the season in AHL. Babcock still has the three young guys together on the third line, so we will have to wait and see what the Red Wings decide to do.

It has been a frustrating year for Helm who was only able to play in one game last season because of a back injury. He is now dealing with a groin injury along with the lingering back issue. Helm would be a welcomed sight in the Red Wings lineup, but at this time there is no timetable for his return.
