Carolina will recall right wing Jared Staal from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Staal, 22, has appeared in 52 games with Charlotte this season, posting four goals, three assists (7 points) and 25 penalty minutes. He is the younger brother of Hurricanes centers Eric Staal and Jordan Staal, and is expected to make his NHL debut tomorrow.

Craig Anderson will start tomorrow. #sens
Anderson has lost two straight starts while allowing seven goals combined. The Sens are slipping in the standings and are in danger of falling out of the playoffs. Tomorrow is a huge game and they will need Anderson to be on his 'A' game.

Joe Cannata is re-called from the Chicago Wolves of the AHL.
Cannata is not fantasy relevant.
Cory Schneider is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury. Joe Cannata is re-called from the Chicago Wolves of the AHL.
There is no word on what is ailing the Canucks netminder. Luongo will likely start tomorrow now. The Canucks will hope to have Schneider back before the playoffs start.

The Hurricanes have reassigned center Riley Nash and forward Tim Wallace to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL). Both players will rejoin the Checkers as they open their Western Conference Quarterfinals series on Friday at Oklahoma City.
Wallace, 28, scored one goal and earned one assist (2 points) in 26 NHL regular-season games with Carolina this season. He also scored nine goals and earned 13 assists (22 points) in 47 AHL games this season with Charlotte

The Hurricanes have reassigned center Riley Nash and forward Tim Wallace to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL). Both players will rejoin the Checkers as they open their Western Conference Quarterfinals series on Friday at Oklahoma City.
Nash, 23, has posted NHL career highs this season with four goals, five assists (9 points) and 32 games played. With Charlotte he set AHL career highs in assists (24) and points (37), and ranked fourth in assists and fifth in scoring among team skaters.
Signing
The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed forward Anton Zlobin, to a three-year entry-level contract.
Zlobin, 20, was one of the top scorers in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) this season while playing for the Val-d’Or Foreurs, finishing ninth overall in regular-season scoring with 91 points (29G-62A) in 61 games.
Line Change
Todd Bertuzzi says he will play Thursday.
Bertuzzi brings some veteran presence to a Red Wings team pushing for the playoffs. He is not fantasy relevant.
Official word from #mnwild is Pominville is day to day with upper body injury; too early to say on callup; update after Thurs practice
Pominville took a hard elbow to the head from Dustin Brown in the second period last night and did not return. The WIld do not play until Friday so we'll have to wait and see how Pominville progresses in the next few days.
Karlsson says he'll make trip to Washington. Still unsure if he will play. Said "slim chance".
Monitor Karlsson's status tomorrow's afternoon to see if he will be in the lineup.

Phoenix #Coyotes sign #OilKings F Henrik Samuelsson to his entry-level contract. $1.138M per, cap hit.
Samuelsson scored 33 goals and added 47 assists (80 points) in 69 games with the Edmonton Oil Kings of the WHL this season. He also has eight goals and seven assists in 12 playoff games.

Toronto is trying to get to get home-ice in the first round so they turn to their #1 goalie tonight. He stopped 49 of 50 shots that he faced in a 4-1 win over the Senators last Saturday. He is 1-0-0 vs. Tampa Bay this year.

Volpatti has one goal and one assist in 31 games.

Samuelsson has returned and been re-injured in the first game twice this season. He has had a really difficult time staying healthy only playing in four games this season.
Babcock says no Bertuzzi tonight.
Bertuzzi hasn't played since February 7th. He was expected to make a return tonight but that is not the case. Tootoo will stay in the Red Wings lineup.
Goalie Start
The Red Wings will make no changes to their lineup tonight, which means Howard starts.
Howard posted a 34-save shutout in a huge win over the Coyotes on Monday. The Red Wings are making a playoff push and they will need Howard to be at his best tonight vs. the Kings. He has posted a 1.56 GAA and .940 SV% in April but the Wings have had a hard time scoring so Howard is just 4-3-3 this month.
Erik Karlsson is taking a defensive shift with Marc Methot to start practice -- a sign that he's closer to a return this week.
It looks like Karlsson will return tomorrow vs. Washington. Monitor his status.

The longest suspension served was dealt to former-Detroit Red Wing David Perron at six-games after a cross-checking penalty dealt ironically against his current team in the 2024-25 season, the Ottawa Senators. Additionally, Perron was fined $148,437.48 for his actions.
