Martin Biron got the last start for the Lightning and lost. Lindback on the other hand has won 4 consecutive games and has won 5 of his 6 starts this season. The Lightning have proved they can score which helps out Lindback greatly.
Kreider was originally considered day-to-day but has not played since January 23. Kreider could still see top-6 minutes when he returns but when that will be is still uncertain.
The original diagnosis for Smith's return was 10-14 days so 3-4 weeks isn't good news for Smith and Red Wings fans. Smith has played well for the Wings this year but it hasn't shown up on the scoresheet. He won't be fantasy relevant until he can score with some regularity.
MacArthur has been unavailable for the Maple Leafs last 3 games since hurting his pinky finger January 26 against the Rangers. MacArthur isn't a great fantasy option except for in deep leagues. Monitor his status prior to game-time.
Byfuglien has missed the Jets last two games and Noel doesn't think it's likely #33 is the lineup tomorrow vs. FLA
Lombardi isn't fantasy relevant.
Gunnarsson missed the Maple Leafs last contest and will likely be out tonight as well. Gunnarsson has been logging 20+ minutes a game and has 1 G and 2 A in 7 games this season. He isn't a great fantasy option.
Simmonds (concussion) sat out the Flyers last game and will not play Tuesday and seems doubtful for Thursday.
Bailey is still waiting to play his first game of the year. The Islanders are off to a good start and Bailey will only help the teams offense and penalty kill.
Lightning head coach Guy Boucher says Lecavalier who is nursing a bone bruise will play Tuesday. Good news for Lecavalier and his fantasy owners that he isn't going to miss any time.
Mrazek appears to be the Red Wings back-up for the time-being. Hoaward has started every game this year and will likely see some time off shortly. It could be Mrazek who gets the start but regardless he isn't fantasy relevant.
Tatar was called up to try and spark the Red WIngs secondary scoring. Tatar has 19 G, 22 A and a +13 in 44 AHL games this season. The crafty Slovak will play on the Wings second line with Datsyuk and Filppula, which gives him a great opportunity to produce.
Varlamov is 3-4-0 with a 2.41 GAA and .919 SV% so far this season. The Avs are banged up at forward and are having a hard time finding the back of the net. The Avs and Stars are very similar teams so it's a good matchup both ways.
The Sharks have a back-to-back on Monday and Tuesday and it is likely that Greiss gets the start tonight against Anaheim and Niemi against the Blackhawks tomorrow. Check back closer to game-time for confirmation.
With Josh Harding struggling early this season it looks like Backstrom is going to get a chance to take the #1 job and run with it. Backstrom has a good matchup tonight against the Coyotes. The Wild shuffled their lines today so they're hoping for some more offensive production to help Backstrom. He is a good start tonight.
Tonight will be Reimer's 5th straight start (2-2 in the last 4.). Reimer is the apparent #1 in Toronto now and has been playing very well and has actually turned into a decent fantasy option. As long as he continues to get the starts he could be useful in fantasy as long as you play the match-ups.
Lehtonen (3-2-1, 2.62 GAA, .924 SV%) finally got a win after a 4 game losing skid and will be back between the pipes tonight after getting the Stars last game off. He has played better than his numbers would suggest but also has let in some softies. He has a good matchup tonight against the Avs.
Miller got lit up yesterday by the Habs but the Sabres are going to go back to him again today against Florida. The Sabres are giving up the most shots per game in the NHL right now which makes it tough on Miller. However the Panthers make for a pretty easy matchup.
This goalie controversy keeps getting better with each passing game. Luongo will start his 4th straight game and is coming off of back to back wins. He has only allowed 3 goals in the last 3 games and is a must-start while he is hot.
Wilson has 3 assists and is a +6 in 8 games this season. He has never scored more than 21 points in a season so he isn't a great fantasy option but was off to a good start this season.
