In addition to the call-up of forward Stephane Veilleux, which I reported Monday, the Devils have also called up right wing Nick Palmieri from Albany of the AHL.
Interesting to see where Palmieri slots into the lineup. He scored four goals and seven points in his first 26 games this season.
Goalie Start
Starting goaltenders: NSH- Pekka Rinne (2011-12 stats: 30-12-6, 2.42 GAA)
In 16 career (regular season) appearances against the Blackhawks, Rinne has a 8-6-1 record with a 2.39 GAA, .920 SV% and one shutout.
Laviolette just said on WIP he expects Bryzgalov will be "ready to go" for the next game.
Sounds like Bryzgalov is an option of Thursday's tilt against the Sabres. The Flyers should have a few practices before then so expect Bryz to be back in game shape.
Goalie Start
MacDonald, who will make his fifth start in a row Tuesday, has given the team a chance to win every time he's played.
MacDonald has never faced the Stars in his career.

Ian Schultz took the warm-up tonight at the Bell Centre & that's it -> #Habs re-assign him back to the Hamilton #Bulldogs
Schultz's next game will be his first at the NHL level. He has no fantasy hockey value at this point.
Tuomo Ruutu has an upper-body injury and will not return to tonight's game.
Tough break for Ruutu, who was reportedly playing a very strong game before getting hurt. The winger has 17 goals and 30 points in 56 games. Have to think this injury effects his trade value.
No Morrow tomorrow or the tomorrow after that. He is missed.
Not great news for the Stars' captain. While battling through injuries most of the season, the left wing has eight goals and 22 points in 43 games. Tomas Vincour has moved into the top-six in his stead.

In the 2023-24 season, there were a total of 14 suspensions and 17 fines issued throughout the NHL. The longest suspension served was dealt to former-Detroit Red Wing David Perron at six-games after a cross-checking penalty dealt ironically against his current team in the 2024-25 season, the Ottawa Senators. Additionally, Perron was fined $148,437.48 for his actions.
