As expected, Sutter will not play tonight. The Madison, Wisconsin native is on track for a career year with five goals and 25 points in 44 games.

Look for Smith to play on a line with Brett Connolly and Pierre-Cedric Labrie. He replaces an injured Dana Tyrell in the lineup.

He said Suter is "day-to-day" and won't leave the trip. Probably means there's a chance for Columbus on Thursday.

At 39, Staios isn't getting any younger. He has six assists over 36 games which should merit no fantasy hockey value.

In 10 career starts against the Caps, Nabokov has a 9-1-0 record with a 2.18 GAA, .929 SV% and one shutout.
Defenseman Jeff Woywitka (foot) also in non-contact jersey. He said Friday he hoped to skate today.
Woywitka is the team's seventh defenseman so they can bring him along slowly. He has a goal and six points in 25 games with the Rangers.
Eminger not ready until at least after All-Star break #NYR
Getting back on the ice is at least a good sign for the team. When he gets back, expect the veteran to push Anton Stralman or Stu Bickel out of the lineup.
Injury
Torts says Sauer is day-to-day, skated himself Monday too.
Getting Sauer back into the lineup would make the team's defense fully healthy for the first time all season. The St. Cloud, Minnesota native scored a goal and three points in 19 games before getting hurt.

In the 2023-24 season, there were a total of 14 suspensions and 17 fines issued throughout the NHL. The longest suspension served was dealt to former-Detroit Red Wing David Perron at six-games after a cross-checking penalty dealt ironically against his current team in the 2024-25 season, the Ottawa Senators. Additionally, Perron was fined $148,437.48 for his actions.
