Peverley is probably playing through a few bumps and bruises. If he can't draw back in, look for Zach Hamill to take his spot on the third line.

Campbell simply needs to work through the pain to get back into the lineup. His presence in practice is certainly a good sign for his status moving forward.

In 29 career starts against the Blackhawks, Kipper has a 11-12-1-4 record with a 2.99 GAA and .900 SV%.

Backlund returns to lineup..Brent Sutter says "Back needs to compete harder." Sutter adds he needs to show more emotion.
Look for Backlund to return to the lineup and center the third line. The Vasteras, Sweden native has disappointed thus far with only two goals and three points over 17 games.
Injury
Absent during the last four games, the Canadiens captain Brian Gionta will not play this week. Wounded at the bottom of the body, the attacker has not been skating.
More bad news for Gionta owners as the Habs captain is scheduled to miss another week of action. The Rochester, New York native is sixth among forwards with 15 points.

Eakin will get a chance to play more regular minutes in Hershey, likely on one of the top two lines. He's expected to play Sunday against the Norfolk Admirals.
Eakin has three goals and six points in 19 games with the Caps and likely gets called back up due to an injury.

With Sean Couturier injured and unable to play against the Avalanche, Holmstrom gives the team an alternate option should Brayden Schenn not be healthy enough to play.

According to a press release, Matt Irwin has been sent down to Worcester.
Irwin is still looking to make his NHL debut.
Defenseman Steve Eminger left Jobing.com Arena with his right arm in a sling after his right shoulder was separated at 3:16 of the second period when the Coyotes’ Martin Hanzal drove him into the backboards in the Rangers’ zone.
Eminger has been one of the more stable defenders and will be the third d-man to hit the injured list. Expect rookie Tim Erixon to take his place in the lineup.
Perreault did not return because of an illness, a team spokesman said during the first intermission. By the second period, he was in the press box in street clothes.
The Caps had to play without their fourth line center for the rest of the game. This injury is certainly not long term as Perreault is expected to get back into the lineup shortly. If he can't, look for Cody Eakin to draw back in.
Word from the #winnipegjets is that C Bryan Little won't return. Injury undisclosed at this point
Little took a shot off the ankle and immediately left the game. Check back for a further word on his status.

In the 2023-24 season, there were a total of 14 suspensions and 17 fines issued throughout the NHL. The longest suspension served was dealt to former-Detroit Red Wing David Perron at six-games after a cross-checking penalty dealt ironically against his current team in the 2024-25 season, the Ottawa Senators. Additionally, Perron was fined $148,437.48 for his actions.
