Matthews (illness) will be a game-time decision on Tuesday for Game 5 vs. Boston.

Matthews did not play in the third period of Saturday's 3-1 game-four loss to the Boston Bruins and did not participate in practice on Monday. He has three points (1G / 2A) in four postseason games this year and his status for game five on Tuesday is up in the air despite participating in morning skate.

Auston Matthews
Andersen is expected to start Game 5 on Tuesday vs. New York.

After failing to sweep the New York Islanders in game four, a 3-2 overtime loss, the Hurricanes will try to advance again on Tuesday in game five with Andersen between the pipes. Andersen has been stellar between the pipes this postseason, allowing three or fewer goals in four contests while posting a solid .920 SV%. The Hurricanes enter action as sizeable -241 home favourites.

Frederik Andersen
Hellebuyck is in the starter's crease at Tuesday's morning skate.

Down 3-1 in their series with the Colorado Avalance, the Jets will turn to Hellebucyk between the pipes in a must-win contest. Hellebuyck is a leading candidate for the Vezina trophy this season but has struggled in the playoffs. He has allowed four or more goals in each contest, posting an ugly .870 SV% through four games (1-3-0). The Jets enter game five as +106 home underdogs.

Connor Hellebuyck
Shattenkirk is expected to be a healthy scratch for Game 5 on Tuesday.

Matt Grzelcyk will replace Shattenkirk in the lineup in game five on Tuesday against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Shattenkirk was semi-regularly a healthy scratch during the regular season but had played all four playoff games to this point, recording a -3 plus/minus while averaging 13:11 time-on-ice.

Kevin Shattenkirk
Grzelcyk is expected to draw back into Boston's lineup for Game 5 on Tuesday.

Kevin Shattenkirk will be a healthy scratch in game five on Tuesday, allowing Grzelcyk to re-enter the lineup. Grzelcyk has not played the last two games and averaged 17:47 time-on-ice through the first two games of the series, recording two shots and five hits.

Matt Grzelcyk
Swayman is expected to start Game 5 vs. Toronto after not taking part in the morning skate.

The Bruins will likely turn to Swayman for a third straight game as they attempt to advance to the second round of the playoffs. Swayman has won each of his three starts this postseason, allowing two or fewer goals in each contest while posting a tremendous .956 SV%. The Bruins enter game five as -164 home favourites against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Jeremy Swayman
New Jersey has signed Shane Bowers to a two-year, two-way contract extension.

Bowers was the 28th overall pick of the Ottawa Senators in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft and has been limited to only nine career NHL games. He played eight games with the Devils this season but spent most of the 2023-24 campaign in the AHL, scoring 14 points (10G / 4A) in 43 games with the Utica Comets.

Shane Bowers
Faksa (undisclosed) will not play in Game 4 in Vegas on Monday.

Faksa appears to have suffered an undisclosed injury in Game 2 of the series and has now missed the last two games as a result. Largely relied on for his defensive prowess, Faksa still managed to tally seven goals and 12 assists across 74 games in the 2023-24 regular season.

Radek Faksa
Oettinger will start Game 4 in Vegas on Monday.

The Stars will unsurprisingly be sticking with their number-one netminder after Oettinger guided the team to their first victory of the series in Game 3. Oettinger had a terrific game, stopping 32 of the 34 shots he faced before Wyatt Johnston won the game for Dallas in overtime. Oettinger has rebounded nicely from a disappointing effort in Game 1, allowing just four goals on 59 shots (.932 SV%) across the last two games. He and the Stars enter action on Monday as slight favourites at -125 despite being on the road.

Jake Oettinger
Vasilevskiy will start Game 5 in Florida on Monday.

The Lightning will of course turn to their franchise netminder in their must-win matchup against the Panthers on Monday. After dropping each of the first three games of the series, Vasilevskiy and the Lightning got on the board in Game 4, as Vasilevskiy stopped 22 of the 25 shots he faced and the Lightning cruised to a 6-3 victory. The bookmakers don't love Tampa's chances of staying alive on Monday, as they enter action as +150 underdogs.

Andrei Vasilevskiy
Dillon (left hand) will not play in Game 5 on Tuesday.

Dillion did not play in game four due to a hand injury and will miss a second straight game on Tuesday night. The Jets find themselves in a 3-1 series deficit, now without Dillon, who had three assists, 12 hits, and six blocks while averaging 21:04 time-on-ice through the first three games of the series.

Brenden Dillon
Thompson will start Game 4 on Monday vs. Dallas.

After losing their first game of the series on Saturday, the Golden Knights are still in a favourable position with a 2-1 series lead and will turn to Thompson between the pipes on Monday for game four. Thompson was sensational in game three, saving 43 of 46 shots (.935 SV%), including countless breakaways and odd-man rushes in the eventual 3-2 overtime loss to the Dallas Stars. The Golden Knights enter game four as +111 road underdogs.

Logan Thompson
Kiviranta (undisclosed) will travel with the team to Winnipeg and will be a game-time decision for Game 5.

Kiviranta did not play Sunday's 5-1 game-four victory over the Winnipeg Jets and could miss a second straight game. In the series' first three games, Kiviranta tallied one assist and nine hits while averaging 10:14 ice time.
