Claude Giroux is out indefinitely after taking a knee from teammate Wayne Simmonds to the back of the head. After the first couple days, Giroux said he was feeling fine, but the Flyers played it cautiously. The result on Tuesday is exactly why.
Expect Sean Couturier to get a crack at the top line with Giroux out. At this point there is no timetable for his return as his symptoms have gotten worse.

Injury
Dale Hunter says that Matt Hendricks is not ready to go just yet, still day to day, but will join the #Caps on their road trip.
Hendricks will not play tonight which means the Caps lines most likely remain the same.

Dupuis has been one of the more valuable forwards on the team and will shift to center now that all three top-line centers could be hurt. He has nine goals and 22 points in 30 games and really seems to thrive under head coach Dan Blysma.

Peters will go on re-entry waivers at noon, Rutherford said.
The team putting Peters through waivers is an indication that they want to use him in a game over Mike Murphy. If he clears, expect him to get at least a start over the next week.

Dwyer gets a look on the second power play unit in addition to his already first-line minutes. The Spokane, Washington native has four goals and eight points in 31 games. Only consider using him in the deepest of leagues.
Rutherford said Skinner will be evaluated in Raleigh by doctors before decision is made on a return.
Skinner will not play tonight and likely will miss a few more games. Stay tuned for a further update.

In the 2023-24 season, there were a total of 14 suspensions and 17 fines issued throughout the NHL. The longest suspension served was dealt to former-Detroit Red Wing David Perron at six-games after a cross-checking penalty dealt ironically against his current team in the 2024-25 season, the Ottawa Senators. Additionally, Perron was fined $148,437.48 for his actions.
