Wennberg missed practice on Thursday due to an undisclosed injury and was originally considered a game-time decision but has stated himself that he will play in Game 3 vs. Washington on Friday. The 28-year-old was acquired at the trade deadline from Seattle and has yet to pick up a point in the playoffs while averaging 16:17 TOI.

Jensen has yet to appear in either of Washington's opening playoff losses but will be a game-time decision for Game 3 on Friday.

Sandin has been out since April 7th due to an upper-body injury but is close to returning and a game-time decision for Game 3 on Friday vs. New York. The 24-year-old will make a welcome return if he is able to suit up after he posted career highs in points (23), games played (68) and SOG (79) while averaging 21:07 TOI per game.

Aube-Kubel will head to the press box for Game 3 on Friday vs. New York as Ivan Miroshnichenko draws into the lineup for the first time in the playoffs. Aube-Kubel won a Stanley Cup with Colorado in 2021-22 but has struggled so far in the postseason as he has failed to record a point and SOG while averaging 9:02 TOI.

Miroshnichenko will take the spot of Nicolas Aube-Kubel as he makes his playoff debut on Friday for Game 3 vs. New York. The 20-year-old rookie appeared in one-fourth of Washington's regular season games and had two goals, six points, 30 SOG, and six PIMs in 21 games played.

With Washington down 2-0 they will turn back to Charlie Lindgren on Friday for Game 3 at home. The 30-year-old has allowed four goals in each of the Capitals' losses to start the playoffs and will look to build off his .864 SV%. He'll attempt to slow down the New York Rangers on Friday, who finished the regular season with the leagues best record and were seventh in the NHL in goals per game (3.39).

Perbix will draw in along with Tanner Jeannot after both players sat out Game 2 on Tuesday. Maxwell Crozier and Calvin de Haan will draw out of the lineup in their place.

Unsurprisingly, the Lightning have no desire to make any sort of change in goal despite being down 2-0 in the series, as they will once again roll with Vasilevskiy between the pipes. Vasilevskiy performed well in Games 1 and 2 despite coming out on the losing side in both instances, allowing just five goals on 64 shots (.922 SV%) across the two contests. The Lightning are actually slight favourites at home tonight despite the 2-0 series deficit, as they enter action at -115 on Thursday.

With Brett Pesce (lower body) expected to miss at least a few games, Tony DeAngelo will draw into Carolina's third defensive pairing for Game 3 for New York on Thursday. The 28-year-old only appeared in 31 games this season and picked up 11 points (3G/8A), 24 PIMs, and 44 SOG.

Andersen only had to stop nine shots (.750) as Carolina took a 2-0 series lead with a 4-3 victory over New York in Raleigh last time out. The 34-year-old will make his third consecutive start after rotating nearly every game he was healthy for this season and has a 2-0-0 record, 2.01 GAA, and .913 SV% in the playoffs. He will head to New York on Thursday, where the Islanders were 21-10-10 during the regular season, and will be looking to swing the series back in their favor.

With Carolina in need of extra playoff roster players and Chicago (AHL) no longer needing his services, Ronan Seeley has been recalled to the Hurricanes on Thursday. The 21-year-old defenseman was Carolina's 2020 7th-round pick (208th overall) and had two goals and 14 points in 58 games played with Chicago this season.

Wennberg has begun the playoffs playing on the Rangers' third line alongside Will Cuylle and Kaapo Kaako. The 29-year-old Wennberg is averaging 16:17 time-on-ice through two games and has zero points.
