Byron scored three goals and four points over nine games with the Heat. He probably plays a bottom-line role.

Burrows remains a few games away from returning but skating before practice is a welcome sign. In 14 games he has five goals and eight points.

With Langkow out, either the Coyotes make a roster move or Martin Hanzal draws back in. Through 13 games, the veteran has three goals and eight points.

That means Brad Richardson will be a healthy scratch for the first time.
After scoring 18 goals over the past two seasons, Richardson has only one assist through 15 games. Expect him to draw back in as the bottom two lines continue to rotate.
He's not quite ready to go but Eric Fehr is one step closer to making his Winnipeg Jets debut.
Fehr was cleared for contact today and should make his Winnipeg debut over the next few games. The Winkler native is a former 21-goal scorer so he holds fringe fantasy hockey value.

Ondrej Pavelec will be making his eighth consecutive start in goal.
In seven career starts against the Panthers, Pavelec holds a 5-1-0 record with a 2.17 GAA and .935 SV%.
The left winger was joined by forward Jochen Hecht, who is trying to rebound from a concussion suffered on the second day of training camp.
No word on when Hecht will return as he remains out indefinitely.
"They both skated for about 30 minutes," coach Lindy Ruff said in First Niagara Center. "In Tyler’s case, no agility stuff, just basically lap skating."
Certainly a step in the right direction for Ennis, who will have trouble regaining his skating stride due to a high ankle injury. Prior to the injury he was held scoreless over seven games.

Tyler Myers was back on the ice after missing Wed's practice. He termed it as a "maintenance day" -- expects to play Fri vs. OTT. #sabres
If you own Myers, feel free to start him with confidence as he should play on the top PP unit. So far he has four assists over his first 14 games with the team.

DETROIT -- Detroit Red Wings forward Todd Bertuzzi was back on the ice Thursday for practice, but only the first half of it. He's still trying to get over some dizziness and a sinus infection and won't play in the next two games, Friday against Edmonton (7:30 p.m.) and Saturday vs. Dallas (7 p.m.), both at home.
Bertuzzi apparently lost some weight during his bout with illness and needs a few days to regain his strength. The controversial winger has a goal and three points over 11 games this season.
