Terry Murray said he hadn’t yet decided whether to use today’s practice line combinations in tomorrow’s game, but indicated that it would be a way to try to increase Dustin Penner’s offensive production.
Penner practiced today with Mike Richards and Dustin Brown -- an upgrade over his current linemates.

Jonathan Bernier is scheduled to start Tuesday against Nashville.
Over five starts against the Preds, Bernier holds a 4-1-0 record with a 1.80 GAA, .940 SV% and one shutout.

#CBJ G Mark Dekanich is slated to head to AHL Springfield on Thursday and make a rehab start on Friday vs. Portland.
If all goes well, look for Dekanich to get back into the lineup within the next two weeks.
#CBJ now has four goaltenders in Columbus. Curtis Sanford (groin) returned to the ice after main practice ended today.
If Sanford can return before Mark Dekanich, he very well could get another start. Otherwise, expect a demotion to the AHL.
Peter Mueller skated again today.
Mueller continues to recover from his concussion and skated for the second consecutive game. He may very well have some fantasy hockey relevance this season.

Backlund was the team's top center during the preseason but is still awaiting his 2011-2012 debut. He scored 10 goals and 25 points over 73 games last season -- totals he probably would have improved upon over a full season. Look for him to get another look on the top line.

In the 2023-24 season, there were a total of 14 suspensions and 17 fines issued throughout the NHL. The longest suspension served was dealt to former-Detroit Red Wing David Perron at six-games after a cross-checking penalty dealt ironically against his current team in the 2024-25 season, the Ottawa Senators. Additionally, Perron was fined $148,437.48 for his actions.
