Goaltender Jaroslav Halak is expected to start Sunday's game against the Oilers, marking his first appearance since Oct. 18.
Over three career starts against the Oilers, Halak holds a 2-0-1 record with a 1.94 GAA, .905 SV% and one shutout.

Over 43 career starts against the Blues, Khabibulin holds a 20-15-2-2 record with a 2.81 GAA and .908 SV%.

Omark is working solo with Hemsky and Buchberger, so I'd imagine he's out again tonight.
With most of the team's forwards healthy, Omark draws out for the sixth time in 11 games. The diminutive winger is still looking for his first point this season.

Look for Bobby Butler to replace Alfredsson.
Butler gets the first crack at replacing Alfredsson. The right winger was previously held scoreless over his first two games with the team.
Daniel Alfredsson will not play tonight. No further update - still being evaluated.
Following an elbow to the head, the captain Alfredsson won't play today. Look for Bobby Butler to suit up in his absence.
All of which seems to imply that the Flyers captain is making progress from a right eye injury expected to keep him out of the lineup through at least the first two weeks of November.
The fact that Pronger will play at all after such an awful injury is a welcome sign. Regardless, expect a few setbacks and for the team's captain to need an adjustment period.

Ales Hemsky is back on the ice with his teammates for the first time since the 2nd game of the season. Back at practice is a good sign...
Certainly a good sign that he is practicing with the team. Expect it to be a little while before he returns to the lineup.

Filatov could replace Daniel Alfredsson in the lineup tonight. He scored four goals and five points through seven games with the Baby Sens.

Line Change
Galiardi will wear the burgundy and blue of the Avalanche uniform tonight, skating on a line with Paul Stastny and Milan Hejduk when the Avs host the Los Angeles Kings at the Pepsi Center.
Galiardi receives yet another chance to contribute to this team offensively. Should he bring his top speed and focus, he just may stick on the top two lines in favor of Chuck Kobasew.
Right wing Brandon Yip (fractured forearm) skated at practice Saturday, but in a noncontact jersey. He could return in one to two weeks
Towards the later portion of last season Yip found himself a healthy scratch. It will be interesting to see where coach Sacco uses the former collegiate standout.

Varlamov lost his only career start against the Kings, Stopping 24 of 28 shots faced.

Over four career starts against the Sens, Gustavsson holds a 2-2-0 record with a 1.72 GAA and .936 SV%.
Suspension
EDMONTON — Edmonton Oilers defenceman Andy Sutton has been suspended for at least Sunday’s home game with the St. Louis Blues pending an audience with Brendan Shanahan at the NHL headquarters in New York on Monday to offer his side of the story on his hit to the head of Colorado Avalanche rookie winger Gabriel Landeskog on Friday night.
If you own Sutton for whatever reason, bench him.
Team spokesman Sergey Kocharov said only that Boudreau would address the goaltending change after the game, making no comment about whether or not it's an injury.
Vokoun left the game relatively abruptly despite allowing three goals on 17 shots. Should he be hurt for an extended period, Michal Neuvirth should be able to handle the load.

Trotz on Fisher: "Right now he’s upper body injury and we’ll see where he is tomorrow and the next day."

In the 2023-24 season, there were a total of 14 suspensions and 17 fines issued throughout the NHL. The longest suspension served was dealt to former-Detroit Red Wing David Perron at six-games after a cross-checking penalty dealt ironically against his current team in the 2024-25 season, the Ottawa Senators. Additionally, Perron was fined $148,437.48 for his actions.
